Statements
Deep Kalra, Outgoing Chair, WTTCII, said: “WTTCII remains committed to working closely with governments at both the Centre and State levels to support India’s long-term tourism growth and ensure the sector scales responsibly as a global destination. Our focus will continue to be on translating reform intent into measurable outcomes. We are pleased to welcome Airbnb and Hilton as WTTCII members, further strengthening our representation across the travel ecosystem.”
Dr Jyotsna Suri, Chair, WTTCII, said: “With the Union Budget 2026 setting a clear direction, the focus must now shift to execution at the State level, where investment and visitor experience are shaped. WTTCII will work closely with States and Union Territories to improve project timelines, destination management, and quality standards. Our engagement with the Goa Tourism Board and the recent MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu reflect this commitment to on-ground delivery.”
Vikram Madhok, Vice Chair, WTTCII, said: “To grow inbound tourism, India must strengthen the entire visitor journey, from seamless access and improved connectivity to sharper international marketing and better-managed destinations. This will help attract high-value travellers, build year-round demand, and spread tourism benefits more evenly across regions. The upcoming new visa application platform is a step in the right direction. The objective is clear: aligning India’s brand promise with the actual visitor experience.”
Ragini Chopra, Vice Chair – Advocacy, WTTCII, said: “India needs a focused international marketing campaign targeting priority markets, supported by strong on-ground delivery at the State level. WTTCII’s advocacy will remain evidence-led and solutions-driven, leveraging the strength of our diverse membership across airlines, hospitality, travel services, OTAs, PSUs, and consulting to help governments implement practical reforms and deliver measurable performance outcomes for the sector.”
