Mumbai, September 17, 2024: As the moon rises higher in the sky, bringing with it the promise of a bountiful harvest and family togetherness, Yi Jing, the renowned Chinese restaurant at ITC Maratha, is set to dazzle patrons with an extraordinary “Chinese Moon Festival” experience. From September 14th onwards, the restaurant will offer a captivating culinary experience inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a vibrant celebration that honours the Chinese moon goddess, Chang’e, and brings families together. The air is filled with the rhythmic beats of lion and dragon dances, as performers twist and turn in a mesmerising display of skill and grace. Traditional Chinese decor, red lanterns and paper cutouts adorn homes and public spaces, creating a festive atmosphere. And of course, no Mid-Autumn Festival would be complete without the delectable mooncakes, filled with sweet ingredients that symbolise unity and harmony.

“We welcome you to Yi Jing, ITC Maratha, for our magical Chinese Moon Festival celebration. This ancient tradition filled with the promise of prosperity, is the perfect opportunity to gather with loved ones and create lasting memories. Join us as we celebrate the splendour of the moon and the warmth of our hospitality,” states Bhagwan Balani, General Manager at ITC Maratha Hotel, Mumbai.

Paying homage to this tradition, Yi Jing’s Master Chef Liang has meticulously crafted a menu featuring a delectable assortment of hand-made mooncakes bursting with rich, aromatic red bean and five nuts fillings, alongside a selection of classic and contemporary Chinese dishes. Start your celebrations with the lip-smacking Sichuan Spicy Cold Noodle Salad, Marinated Lamb With Chili Oil or flavorful soups like Chicken Foo Young Soup and Beijing Tofu Soup. Indulge in a basket of handcrafted dim sums, featuring Mixed Vegetables and Pork With Chinese Cabbage. The symphony of flavours and textures of the Stewed New Zealand Lamb Shank, Braised Bean Curd With Mushroom And Hunan Preserved Chili, and Stir Fried Pok Choi And Shimeji Mushroom In White Sauce is sure to delight your palate. To complement the exquisite food, an endless flow of spirits and cocktails will elevate your experience. Yi Jing will also create a festive atmosphere with mesmerising lantern displays, live music, moon-viewing sessions, and more, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty and tradition of this ancient celebration.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Mid-Autumn Festival to Yi Jing, ITC Maratha for the very first time! This ancient celebration is a beloved tradition, and we’re honoured to bring its magic to our guests.
