Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, holds immense significance as one of the country’s important cities. The inauguration ceremony marked the completion of two major National Highway projects, with a combined cost exceeding Rs 3,300 crore. One of the projects inaugurated was the Madiyav-I.I.M. section on National Highway 24, part of the Lucknow-Sitapur stretch. Notably, the construction of a 4-lane elevated corridor at the crossing was finished six months ahead of schedule. This development will greatly enhance connectivity from Lucknow to Sitapur, alleviate traffic congestion at Bhitauli Tiraha and Jankipuram Extension, and save commuters over 30 minutes in travel time and fuel consumption. Additionally, it will facilitate the visit of pilgrims to Chandrika Devi and Naimisharanya.
The second project inaugurated was the construction of a 4-lane road from Naviganj to Mitrasenpur, forming part of the Aligarh-Kanpur section. This road will improve transportation between Naviganj, Kannauj, Mitrasenpur, and onward to Delhi. The region’s perfume hub, Kannauj, and surrounding areas are expected to witness a boost in economic development. Moreover, areas such as Chhibramau, Gursahaiganj, Jalalabad, and Manimau will benefit from increased activity in small and medium industries. Farmers in Kannauj will experience improved transportation access to Chhibramau and Naviganj Mandi, while direct connectivity to Delhi will be more convenient.
The inauguration of these National Highway projects signifies the government’s dedication to the progress and prosperity of Uttar Pradesh. By investing in improved infrastructure and connectivity, the aim is to facilitate economic growth, enhance regional development, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. These projects will not only enhance travel experiences but also promote trade, tourism, and agricultural activities in the state.
