This event forms an essential part of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship’s IndiaSkills 2023-24 program, showcasing young talent across five major hospitality skills: Bakery, Cooking, Restaurant Services, Patisserie and Confectionery, and Hotel Reception.

Competitors from across the country vied for the opportunity to compete in the IndiaSkills Track-II Competitions 2024 in Delhi. Through a rigorous selection process, including an MCQ-based assessment and physical competitions, 194 candidates were shortlisted in the five hospitality skills. IndiaSkills 2024 is progress to the renowned WorldSkills competition, the world’s largest skills event, often termed the “Olympics of Skills.”

Reflecting on the significance of IndiaSkills 2024, Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO of THSC, said, “These competitions are instrumental in recognizing and fostering vocational talent in India. We’re excited to be part of an event that not only highlights skill development but also empowers young professionals to represent our country internationally. Our collaboration with the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) and other industry partners reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of skilled champions.”

The focus of these competitions is to identify and nurture the right talent through training and mentorship from a team of experts from various colleges, academies, industries, and institutes. The top three winners in each of the five skills at the IndiaSkills Competition will undergo intensive training and participate in two additional physical competitions to determine the one competitor who will ultimately earn the honour of representing India at WorldSkills Lyon, France.
