February 2023: With travellers continuing to prioritise wellness when planning trips for this year too, The Residence by Cenizaro has added new renewal retreats to its 2023 calendar. Designed to rejuvenate, reset, and restore the body and mind, the programme is taking place across its luxury resorts in Zanzibar, Mauritius, Tunis, and the Maldives.

Perfect for couples, small groups, and solo travellers alike, itineraries combine meditation, spirituality, fitness, and healthy eating. The renewal retreats will be available throughout the year as the guests will be invited to slow down, relax, and reconnect with the self in the most picturesque of settings.

Spiritual Sojourn at The Residence Zanzibar

The Residence Zanzibar provides a mind, body, and spirit-lifting retreat with a selection of curated experiences from stress-release exercises to wellness workshops. The guests learn to restore the natural rhythm of sleep and increase the body’s natural resistance to stress, anxiety and exhaustion at this luxury African sanctuary.

The treatments include a rhythmic body scrub followed by a rainforest facial therapy and a rejuvenating massage to provide a sense of tranquillity and peacefulness. As the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, slow flow yoga sessions are followed by relaxing evenings on the beach and a good night’s sleep. By day, the guests can embark on a trip to Kizimkazi Village to experience the local culture and authentic Zanzibari cuisine, before indulging in hot stone massage and African rain foot massage upon return to relieve any chronic pain, increase blood circulation and promote deep relaxation.

Physical & Mental Renewal at The Residence Maldives

The guests of The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah and Falhumaafushi are invited to absorb the serenity and peace the archipelago is famed for with its exclusive retreat programme. Designed to promote personal transformation, the retreat will immerse participants in meditative practices resulting in benefits that continue far beyond check out.

The guests indulge in some of Maldives’ most sought-after treatments at The Spa by Clarins and choose from ‘Just the two of us’ or ‘The Residences Bliss’ programmes. All traces of stress and tension melt away during a 120-minute massage session that incorporates a full body scrub, Ayurvedic techniques and a pampering foot massage.

Following the massage guests may sip on a selection of herbal teas or juices from the comfort of the island’s tropical gardens. The programme also includes yoga classes for all abilities, use of bicycles to roam from island to island and a private dinner under the stars on the idyllic Castaway Island.

Culinary Wellness with The Residence Mauritius

Specially designed for those in need of a holistic wellness retreat packed with pampering and therapeutic benefits, The Residence Mauritius renewal retreat aims to soothe away stress and tension and restore a sense of balance.

The guests start the day with a relaxing yoga session to the soundtrack of lapping waves, before enjoying a rejuvenating 30-minute back massage at the expansive spa. Post-pamper, guests will be treated to a delicious, soul-nourishing dinner for two at the resort’s signature restaurant. The three- course feast comprises of a palm heart and green papaya salad with seared tuna and pickled onion and vanilla-apple marmalade, grilled ‘catch of the day’ served with quinoa salad with sundried tomatoes, and a low-fat tiramisu with vegan cream, wild berries and exotic fruit sorbet. Ingredients are freshly plucked from the resort’s on-site garden-kitchen which the team can arrange private tours of and where guests can take part in traditional Mauritian cookery classes. A delicious end to a restorative day, travellers can wind down as the sun sets by sipping on fresh juices and immunity shots whilst lounging on the beach.
