Returning to Greater Noida after a long hiatus, I found myself wandering amid glass-draped towers and new bustling avenues that had seemingly sprouted overnight. The city’s pulse quickened, and nestled in the heart of this transformation was an enigmatic whisper: The Dark Room, a bold new cafe-club on the 5th floor of the Galaxy Blue Sapphire Mall. The name had reached me through plenty of grapevines—a place said to revive the lost magic of the nocturnal underground, away from the monotony that now plagues most nightlife haunts. I went, hoping for a break from the cookie-cutter, and found far more than I bargained for.
First Impressions — An Immersive Aesthetic
From the moment the doors slid open, I was immersed in Black and deep crimson ruled everything: from plush seating, subtle wall lighting, and striking installations to the surreal, almost watchful collection of red-and-black owls (the Logo)perched along the walls. These weren’t just decorative; together with the moody lighting and a thrum of distant bass lines, they cast an enveloping sense of intrigue and invite. The space oozes a modern edginess that nods reverently to the roots of classic, underground nightlife—raw, and absolutely magnetic.
Ambience & Vibe — Where Night Comes Alive
This wasn’t another ‘insta-cafe’ camouflaged in neon. The Dark Room’s atmosphere pulses with high-octane energy and a sense of occasion. It’s a throwback to nights where music, mood, and memory intertwined.
Even on my mid-week visit, the club hummed with—groups settled in cozy corners, a few happy clusters near the dance floor, and solo patrons lost in thought over creative cocktails. Every element, from the evocative soundtrack to the strategic lighting, was tailored for soul-filling midnight hours.
Culinary & Cocktails — A Feast for the Senses
Far from settling for regular bar nibbles, The Dark Room boasts an expansive, international menu.
Think Pan Asian dim sums rubbing shoulders with hand-crafted Italian pastas and mouthwatering Indian comfort food or the elaborate starter plater- each dish designed to pair with their playful, extraordinary drinks. As suggested y the Restaurant Manager, I tried their signature cocktail, a cleverly concocted drink with a sweet-smoky profile, alongside a slate of mushrooms and creamy truffle risotto that managed to impress my tastebuds instantly.
Attention to detail to how dishes are plated, and servers happily recommended pairings based on your mood (or, in my case, curiosity).
The People, The Passion
Midway through my meal, I had the chance to meet Gaurav Sapra, the founder and visionary behind the concept. Our conversation veered from clubbing nostalgia to how The Dark Room is meeting a real urban need—a haven for the young (and the young at heart), where stress is exchanged for camaraderie and rhythm.
Gaurav recounted his intention “bring back true nightlife,” yet make it accessible, safe, and memorable for a new generation. As we chatted, I could see the club filling up, the energy intensifying—just as he’d promised, “as the night becomes darker, the changes, and people love it.”

Why The Dark Room Should Be Your Next Go-To
In a city where most venues play it safe, The Dark Room dares to be different. It’s not just a place to eat or drink, but a celebration of the night—of connection, music, DJ and memory-making. And with themed nights (Arabian night, anyone?) and live music sessions, it’s clear The Dark Room has both vision and staying power.
My only regret? on a weekday. I left promising myself—and telling Gaurav—that I’d be back soon the club is in full weekend swing, to dance, feast, and lose myself in the intoxicating energy reserved for the city’s true night-owls.
