New Delhi, March 18, 2025: The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a global coffee and tea brand, has announced plans to open 25 new stores in India by the end of the fiscal year 2025. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to establish 250 locations across the country by 2029. The brand recently opened its second café in GK1, South Delhi, marking a significant step in its growth trajectory in India.

The expansion is being facilitated by the brand’s new master franchisee, Ekaagra Ostalaritza Pvt. Ltd. The GK1 café, located in a prominent shopping hub, aims to cater to the growing demand for premium coffee and tea experiences in the region. The brand is known for its handcrafted beverages and premium blends, which include Arabica beans and specialty teas sourced from private, family-owned estates.

To mark the opening of the GK1 café, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf launched a creative marketing campaign titled “Dude with a Signboard.” The campaign featured humorous and relatable slogans such as “Caffeine first, shopping later” and “You need coffee more than that extra pair of shoes.” The initiative garnered significant attention, with shoppers engaging with the campaign, sharing photos on social media, and generating buzz around the new location.

The café offers a range of beverages, including espressos, lattes, exotic teas, and signature ice-blended drinks. It also provides a space for customers to relax, work, or socialize, aligning with the growing trend of cafes becoming hubs for remote work and social interactions.

A recent study by the Coffee Board of India, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, highlighted several factors driving the growth of café culture in the country. These include increased discretionary spending, the rise of hybrid and remote work, and a shift in consumer preferences toward artisanal and specialty coffees. The study also noted that nearly 70% of non-coffee consumers are open to trying coffee at cafes.

Prashant Chauhan, Chief Strategy Officer at Ekaagra Ostalaritza Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the brand’s focus on quality as a key differentiator. “Our commitment to sourcing the top 1% of Arabica beans and the finest tea leaves, combined with freshly prepared food offerings, positions us to elevate the café experience in India,” he said.

Founded in Southern California in 1963, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf operates over 1,200 locations across 24 countries. The brand’s expansion in India reflects its efforts to tap into the country’s growing café culture and evolving consumer preferences.
