Here, you’ll navigate your bike through high-altitude mountain passes, rugged desert terrain, and turquoise lakes. And when you’re hungry, you can stop at one of the many roadside cafes and restaurants that serve delicious Ladakhi dishes, like yak cheese, tsampa, and gur-gur chai. 

    Best time to visit: May to October when the weather is clear and the roads are open.

    Spiti Valley: Imagine cruising through the rugged terrain of the Spiti Valley, with towering mountains on either side of you and vast expanses of blue sky above. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming villages, sparkling rivers, and stunning monasteries. And when you need to refuel, you can stop at one of the many roadside cafes and dhabas that serve delicious North Indian and Tibetan dishes, like Thukpa, Momos, and Chow Mein. 

    Best time to visit: June to September when the roads are open and the weather is mild.

    Nainital: If you’re in the mood for a more laid-back ride, head to Nainital, a charming hill station in the foothills of the Himalayas. Here, you’ll find winding roads that lead to picturesque viewpoints, serene lakes, and lush forests. And when you’re ready to take a break, you can stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants that serve delicious breakfasts, sandwiches, and pizzas. 

    Best time to visit: March to June and from September to November.

    Rishikesh: This spiritual and adventure-filled destination is a great option for bikers who want to explore the foothills of the Himalayas. You’ll ride alongside the beautiful Ganges River, explore ancient temples and ashrams, and even try your hand at white-water rafting. When it’s time to refuel, you can stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants that offer delicious North Indian and Tibetan cuisine, like chole bhature, momos, and thukpa. 

    Best time to visit: September to November and from March to April when the weather is pleasant.

    Jaipur: For a cultural and historical ride, head to Jaipur, the “Pink City” of India. Here, you’ll explore grand palaces, vibrant bazaars, and beautiful forts. You can also stop at one of the many traditional Rajasthani restaurants that serve spicy and flavorful dishes, like Dal-Baati-Churma, Laal Maas, and Gatte ki Sabzi. 

    Best time to visit: November to February when the weather is cool and pleasant.

    Agra: No trip to North India is complete without a visit to the world-famous Taj Mahal in Agra. Along the way, you can ride through charming villages and lush agricultural landscapes. When it’s time to eat, you can stop at one of the many roadside dhabas that offer delicious North Indian and Mughlai cuisine, like Biryani, Kebabs, and Butter Chicken. 

    Best time to visit: November to February when the weather is mild.

    Shimla: This charming hill station is a great option for bikers who want to experience colonial-era architecture, scenic mountain views, and refreshing mountain air. You can stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants that offer delicious Indian and western cuisine, like Thalis, Pizzas, and Burgers. 

    Best time to visit: March to June and from September to November.
