The Balvenie marks a momentous chapter in its storied journey of craftsmanship as a single, ultra-rare bottle of The Balvenie Fifty – First Edition makes its way to India. This rare arrival, part of The Balvenie Fifty Collection, commemorates 50 years of whisky mastery at the Speyside distillery and stands as a tribute to the brand’s unwavering commitment to craft, patience, and legacy.

Only one bottle of The Balvenie Fifty – First Edition will be made available in India at G Town Wines, Golf Course Road, Gurugram, offering a unique opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs to own a piece of whisky history.

The Balvenie Fifty First Edition is a unique single cask expression, aged in a European oak refill butt, was filled in 1973 and selected by Malt Master, Kelsey McKechnie. Aged gracefully over five decades, expect layered tannins and ripe berries, accompanied by subtle hints of rich leather on the nose. On the palate, the liquid is unmistakably rich, toffee sweetness reveals rolling flavours of citrus and a deep oaky spice.

The rarity of the Balvenie Fifty Collection is further enhanced by the exquisite packaging developed by Croglin; a bespoke craft workshop based in Cumbria. Each presentation contains over 100 different elements, including seven layers of wood in the helix structure, less than 1/10th of a millimetre thick, and a beautifully crafted 14-carat gold-plated brass display.

India also witnessed the launch of The Balvenie Rare Marriages Collection—The Balvenie Thirty and The Balvenie Twenty-Five, both of which are available in a highly exclusive and limited release.

Like silk to taste, The Balvenie Thirty is the sweetest and most honeyed expression. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE marries Traditional American and European oak casks that have been matured for decades to craft a whisky of incredible sweetness and complexity. A silky sweetness gives way to great depth of rich honey, mellow oaky tones, and hints of candied orange peel. The packaging’s cylinder shape is a soft goat leather construct, detailed with gradually faded debossed pattern rings, inspired by the distillery to represent the unfurling of flavor in the marrying process; finished with white gold foil, creating a highly tactile and luxurious touch.

The Balvenie Twenty-Five is a flawless marriage, where Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE brings together individual casks to craft an incredibly intricate and balanced expression, exemplifying the art and skill of Traditional Oak Tun Mar riages with liquid from European and American casks. A whisky of exceptional character, Twenty-Five hints at The Balvenie’s most sought-after flavours – bold vanilla oak, crystalised ginger, and sweet runny honey. Presented in a case of rich burgundy colour that graduates to a lighter ombré hue, the colours represent the evolution of flavours in the marrying process. Rings of white gold foil represent each year of maturation.

“India is home to an increasingly discerning community of collectors and whisky connoisseurs who value authenticity, legacy, and craftsmanship. With the unveiling of The Balvenie Fifty, we are proud to bring one of our rarest and most storied expressions to India — a market that is deeply appreciative of such timeless artistry. This marks a significant step in our long-term commitment to offering Indian consumers access to the very best of our global portfolio.” — Sachin Mehta, Managing Director – William Grant & Sons, India

“The Balvenie Fifty making its debut in India is a moment of immense pride — a singular expression that captures five decades of unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. To unveil this rare bottle alongside The Balvenie Twenty-Five and Thirty further deepens our story here. Each of these expressions, while unique in character, is united by a dedication to traditional craft, careful maturation, and the art of marrying exceptional cask.” commented, Global Brand Ambassador, Charles Metcalfe
