Sterling Holiday Resorts announced the launch of Sterling Valley of Pine, Lansdowne, a boutique mountain retreat nestled amid dense pine forests near Gumkhal—a view-led retreat with warm, pinewood interiors and open terraces, created for unhurried getaways. The opening marks Sterling’s ninth resort in Uttarakhand—reinforcing the brand’s circuit strength in one of India’s most loved hill-and-forest holiday regions.

Conceived for purposeful mountain travel, Sterling Valley of Pine, Lansdowne introduces a quieter, forest-driven escape within Sterling’s hill portfolio—designed for travellers seeking space, privacy and meaningful outdoor time. Well-suited for leisure stays, intimate celebrations and leadership offsites, the retreat also works as a natural connector within Uttarakhand’s circuit around mountains, spiritual havens and other drive-to destinations—especially for travellers from Delhi NCR and Western UP.

Designed to frame the valley from multiple vantage points, all rooms feature private balconies with far-reaching views across the pine valleys, while select indulgent havens include access to open terraces overlooking the pool and the surrounding landscape. The guest experience is anchored around food, togetherness and meaningful moments—supported by three signature venues:

    • Lans Café – all-day dining in a warm pinewood setting with panoramic valley and garden views
    • Sky Social – an open-to-sky terrace for sunset gatherings, bonfire evenings and small celebrations
    • Sky Vista – a glass-walled meeting venue overlooking the valley and forests, designed for leadership offsites and private workshops

Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said: “Uttarakhand continues to be one of India’s most enduring year-round holiday regions, and Sterling has built deep familiarity with how travellers engage with the state across seasons. Valley of Pine, Lansdowne adds a calmer, more design-forward chapter to our mountain portfolio—created for guests who want meaningful time outdoors and destinations that feel restorative yet accessible. It also strengthens our presence across Mussoorie, Nainital, Dehradun, Rishikesh and Jim Corbett National Park—helping us curate connected, experience-led journeys across the region.”

Also speaking on the association, Meghna Bhatnagar, from Dev Bhoomi, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Sterling for our flagship retreat in Lansdowne. Our vision was to create a retreat that brings different guests from across India, while we offer them refined hospitality. Sterling is a natural choice to bring this vision to life — their deep understanding of India’s leisure segment, regional presence, and ability to blend local character with national scale make them an ideal collaborator.”

Among the other compelling reasons to stay are curated regional delicacies, a swimming pool, steam and sauna facilities, guided nature walks, bonfire evenings and pet-friendly vacations—making it a well-rounded, off-the-grid retreat.

Strategically located near Gumkhal, Lansdowne is just 136 km (3–3.5 hrs) from Rishikesh, 175 km (3.5–4 hrs) from Dehradun, 200 km (4–4.5 hrs) from Mussoorie, 219–252 km (5.5–6 hrs) from Nainital, and 118 km (3–3.5 hrs) from Jim Corbett National Park—making it viable to combine mountain, spiritual, urban and wildlife destinations into extended itineraries.
