In a significant development for India’s tourism and hospitality sector, global hospitality technology firm STAAH has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Clarks Hotels & Resorts. The agreement was formalized in New Delhi in the presence of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who is currently on an official visit to India.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at ITC Maurya, Delhi, as part of Prime Minister Luxon’s efforts to strengthen economic and technological ties between New Zealand and India. The collaboration highlights New Zealand’s growing influence in technology-driven industries and its ability to support large-scale hospitality businesses globally.

Prime Minister Luxon’s visit to India, accompanied by a delegation of over 80 officials and business leaders, underscores the importance of fostering bilateral partnerships. “While cricket remains a strong cultural connection between India and New Zealand, there are several other areas where both countries can collaborate and build meaningful partnerships. Technology and hospitality are two such sectors with immense potential to drive growth,” said Prime Minister Luxon.

“We are delighted to sign this MoU, which reflects the accelerating digital transformation of India’s tourism and hospitality sectors. India’s hospitality industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, and the adoption of cloud-based distribution and revenue management solutions is becoming essential for luxury and heritage properties to remain competitive,” said Tarun Joukani, Director at STAAH.

The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, established in 2005, is one of India’s fastest-growing hotel management chains, with a portfolio of over 135 hotels across 120 destinations in India and three other countries. As part of the MoU, The Clarks Hotels & Resorts will implement advanced distribution technology of STAAH to enhance its operational efficiency and guest experiences.

Aryavir Kumar, Managing Director at The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, added, “At The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, we are committed to delivering world-class hospitality while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. Partnering with STAAH enables us to integrate cutting-edge technology into our operations, further elevating the luxury hospitality experience for our guests.”

This strategic alliance marks an important milestone in New Zealand-India business relations, emphasizing the role of technology in driving innovation and excellence in the hospitality sector.
