Simba Beer marks a decade of brewing in India, completing 10 years as one of the country’s early craft beer disruptors. What started as a bold challenge to India’s conventional beer culture has, over the last decade, grown into one of the country’s most recognised craft beer brands. Built with a clear intent to challenge convention, Simba is defined by bold flavour profiles, a strong design language, and a sharp cultural voice.
At a time when beer choices were predictable, Simba helped introduce a generation of consumers to more expressive, flavour-forward brews. Entering a market largely dominated by standard lagers, the brand brought a differentiated approach, introducing Indian consumers to contemporary styles and a more evolved craft narrative. The brand also introduced one of India’s first bottled stouts, widening early consumer exposure to darker, more complex beer styles. Over the years, Simba has expanded its footprint across key markets, building a loyal consumer base and contributing to the broader shift towards craft beer consumption in India.
Reinforcing its credentials on the global stage, Simba has been recognised at the World Beer Awards 2025, one of the most respected international platforms for brewing excellence. Competing against leading beers from across the world, the brand secured two honours in the India Country Winners – Taste Category. Simba Wit was awarded Silver in the Wheat Beer Belgian Style Witbier category, while Simba Stout received Bronze in the Stout and Porter category, including Dry and Irish styles. These wins reflect the brand’s continued focus on quality and brewing precision.
Beyond product innovation, Simba has built a strong cultural footprint through its owned IPs such as Simba Uproar, First Time with Simba, Simba Garage and Simba Wagwan. These platforms have enabled the brand to cultivate a strong community and embed itself meaningfully within contemporary culture.
Beyond beer, the company has also expanded its presence within the premium alco-bev space with ZigZag Vodka, signalling a broader ambition to shape modern drinking culture in India.
Commenting on the milestone, Ishwaraj Singh Bhatia, Co-founder, Simba Beer and ZigZag Vodka, said: “Completing ten years is a significant milestone for us. We started Simba with a clear belief that Indian consumers were ready for more character and variety in beer. Over the years, it has been encouraging to see that shift take shape. The recognition at the World Beer Awards validates the quality we have consistently worked towards. As we move ahead, the focus remains on strengthening our portfolio, expanding thoughtfully, and continuing to build a brand that stays relevant to evolving consumer tastes.”
As Simba enters its next phase, the brand remains focused on expanding its reach, strengthening its portfolio, and continuing to play a defining role in India’s evolving craft beer ecosystem.
