Resplendent Ceylon announces the appointments of Asela Jayaweera as General Manager of Cape Weligama and Sajith Grero as General Manager of Ceylon Tea Trails.

At Cape Weligama, Asela Jayaweera brings over 20 years of leadership experience across some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental, and Sharq Village & Spa. With a proven track record in operational excellence, team leadership, and guest satisfaction, Asela will focus on reinforcing Cape Weligama’s reputation as Sri Lanka’s premier clifftop resort while introducing innovative processes to elevate the guest experience.

At Ceylon Tea Trails, Sajith Grero steps into leadership with over 17 years of experience at respected hospitality brands, including Anantara and Cinnamon Hotels. Having overseen luxury resorts across Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Sajith is well-positioned to guide Ceylon Tea Trails into its next chapter. His focus will be on sustaining the resort’s global reputation as the world’s first tea bungalow resort while enhancing its immersive heritage-driven experiences.

Together with the earlier news of Indika Fernando being named as General Manager of Wild Coast Tented Lodge, these three appointments mark a new era of leadership at Resplendent Ceylon—one defined by process excellence, innovation in luxury hospitality, and the embrace of authentic Sri Lankan heritage. They reaffirm the company’s founding vision, born from Dilmah Tea, to deliver sustainable, world-class hospitality experiences under the Relais & Châteaux banner.
