Red Dot Representations recently partnered with Walkers Tours Limited to strengthen outbound tourism from Gujarat to Sri Lanka. Providing sales and marketing support to Walkers Tours in Ahmedabad and the larger Gujarat market, Red Dot will help represent and bolster the DMC’s presence in the region.

In congruence with the development, FitsAir has unveiled its direct scheduled passenger service between Ahmedabad and Colombo. Available three times a week, the new route enables travellers from Gujarat to access Sri Lanka directly for luxury and leisure holidays, MICE, destination weddings, and experiential travel.

In a first-of-a-kind development in Sri Lanka’s travel sector, diverse players like City of Dreams Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Walker Tours, and FitsAir have come together to showcase the Island country’s comprehensive experience. The integrated collaboration will help Indian travellers to relish experiential stays at City of Dreams Sri Lanka and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts while discovering the island through signature personalised itineraries by Walkers Tours. Showcasing Instagram-worthy beaches, cultural attractions, the Island country’s wildlife heritage, exemplary hotels and resorts, and exceptional culinary experiences, the partnership aims to showcase everything that Sri Lanka has to offer.

As Gujarat is rising as a crucial market for outbound travel, the direct air connectivity brings down travel time and promotes convenience, unveiling increased opportunities for both leisure and corporate travellers. Red Dot’s elaborate network across the travel trade will help induce awareness about the destination, promote its tailored travel experiences, and support travel partners with dedicated sales and marketing initiatives.

Speaking on the development, Nalaka Amaratunga, Chief Executive Officer – Destination Management Sector and Senior Vice President – John Keells Holdings PLC, said, “The launch of FitsAir’s direct Ahmedabad-Colombo service marks a key milestone in bolstering tourism ties between India and Sri Lanka. Joining hands with Red Dot Representations will help us strengthen our engagement with the Gujarat market – a strong outbound travel market. In association with FitsAir, City of Dreams Sri Lanka and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, we have chalked out how to provide a seamless immersive experience of the destination to the travellers. We look forward to hosting more Indian travellers to let them experience everything that Sri Lanka has to offer.”

Speaking on the association, Prabhakar Kamat, Business Head, Red Dot Representations, said, “Sri Lanka has always been one of the most loved international destinations for Indian travellers, offering the perfect mix of culture, nature, wildlife, beaches, and warm hospitality. We are delighted to partner with Walkers Tours to bring the Indian travel trade a trusted and end-to-end destination management solution. With the launch of Fits Air’s direct flights from Ahmedabad, we see a tremendous opportunity to further grow tourism from Gujarat, a market with significant untapped potential. Together with Walkers Tours and our travel partners, we look forward to making Sri Lanka more accessible and creating many more unforgettable travel experiences for Indian travellers.”

By bringing together direct air connectivity, world-class hospitality, and seamless destination management under one collaborative initiative, this partnership is set to strengthen tourism ties between Gujarat and Sri Lanka while creating new opportunities for the travel trade and delivering exceptional experiences for Indian travellers.
