National, December 12, 2024: The Restaurant Cricket League (RCL), a unique national cricket tournament supported by Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is set to return for its third season on February 19, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi.

Themed “Serving Change, Delivering Impact, and Uniting Communities” RCL 2025 aims to raise awareness about food security, reduce waste, and facilitate the creation of food banks for underprivileged sections of society—issues that resonate deeply with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 of Zero Hunger. By leveraging the power of cricket, the league will not only raise awareness about these pressing issues but also drive collective action, encouraging individuals and businesses alike to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable society.

RCL 2025 will feature 15 thrilling matches, including 8 league games, 4 quarterfinals, semifinals, and a grand finale. The proceeds from the tournament raised through strategic partnerships with leading public & private sector organizations will be used to promote sustainable food practices & facilitate hunger alleviation. Turning every boundary into a step toward a better tomorrow, 100 nutritious meals will be thoughtfully provided to those in need for every 10 runs scored at RCL!

Speaking on the occasion & reflecting on RCL’s broader humanitarian and developmental goals, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), National Spokesperson, BJP & Honorary Chairman, Governing Council – RCL, said, “The Restaurant Cricket League (RCL) is a platform that transcends sports to address critical societal challenges. As we look forward to RCL’s 2025 season, we are expanding the league’s mission to align with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of an AatmaNirbhar Bharat and a developed nation by 2047. RCL will thus not only continue its focus on food security through partnerships with food banks but will also champion other initiatives that promote unity, wellness, and sustainability.”

Elaborating further, Shri. Rudy highlighted “An essential aspect of RCL 2025 will be celebrating culture, bringing together 16 states of India, each showcasing their unique local cuisines, culture, and art. By naming the state teams after their respective iconic regional dishes, RCL aims to highlight the essence of each region, stimulate state tourism, and promote India’s rich diversity & foster unity.”

To offer spectators and invitees a chance to immerse themselves in the flavors, arts, and heritage of each participating state, the concurrent RCL Taste & Tradition Festival will transform RCL into a family-friendly extravaganza, where sports enthusiasts, food lovers, and culture aficionados converge to celebrate India’s vast cultural tapestry.

To underscore the unifying power of cricket—a sport that brings together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, RCL 2025 will feature players from 16 states representing the vast landscape of Indian hospitality, tourism, sports, entertainment, food & beverage, technology and other relevant industries. The on-ground excitement will be further amplified by participation and attendance of senior union ministers, policy makers, notable cricketers, celebrities & influencers etc.

By integrating all these elements into a nationwide event, RCL 2025 will be a truly holistic initiative that honors tradition while driving change required for the inclusive development of our nation.
