    As the winter is bidding its final farewell for the season, the flavour of Springs is filling in the air. A relief from the biting cold of Northern India, this is one of those ideal times to pack your travel gear and explore the kingdom of Maharajas – Rajasthan. 

    The glorious colours, unique landscape and the vibes of a strong heritage of Rajasthan never fail to fascinate a traveller . Here are a few well known and not so well known destinations you can plan this season :

    1. Jaisalmer, Rajasthan

    Situated close to the Pakistan Border, Jaisalmer is a major tourist spot located in the northwestern state of Rajasthan in India. It is called the ‘golden city’ due to its bounteous golden dunes flowing in the Thar Desert. Jaisalmer is adorned with lakes, ornate Jain temples, havelis and castles clad in golden yellowish sandstone. Climb on to the camel saddle and make your way through this desert or camp under the night sky in this golden land for an unforgettable experience.

    2. Ranthambore, Rajasthan

    This is one of the best tiger reserves of the country, known to have “friendly” tigers and chances of sighting one here is reasonably better than many other tiger reserves of India. Along with this Ranthambore has one of the richest flora and fauna making it an absolutely must visit area.

    Nestled in the foothills of Vindhya and Aravali Hills, Ranthambore is famous for its tiger reserves and the variety of flora and fauna found. The Ranthambore National Park, along with the Ranthambore Fort and the surrounding hills and valleys, altogether make Ranthambore a traveller’s delight.

    3. Bundi, Rajasthan (“The Queen of Hadoti”)

    A princely state for a princely stay, in the northwest of India, lies the district of Bundi, in the Hadoti region of the royal state of Rajasthan. In ancient times, the area around Bundi was apparently inhabited by various local tribes.

    It is of great historical significance as it has been a witness to many battles and legendary tales of valour. Bundi is blessed with a plethora of nature along with a beautiful pattern of rivers and lakes and some enchanted waterfalls. The lushy lands of this area are host to a huge variety of flora and fauna.

    Known For : Taragarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Badal Mahal

    4. Mount Abu, Rajasthan

    The only hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu is located in the Aravali range. The most important attraction, however, are undoubtedly the Dilwara temples, which is one of the most stunning pieces of architecture in the country. Travellers can enjoy calm and relaxed boating in Nakki Lake, and a view of the sunset from the vista points. The restaurants and eateries around the lake are great places to eat local food and chill. The highest peak of the Aravali Range – Guru Shikhar also lies in Mt. Abu. Mount Abu Forest Sanctuary with an abundance of flora and fauna is also a highlight.
