In celebration of World Environment Day, Radisson Blu Palace Resort & Spa, Udaipur, has undertaken a month-long plantation drive, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The initiative, which began earlier this June, was further elevated by the gracious presence of Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Shri Sanjay Sharma, Minister of State for Forest Department, Environment and Climate Change, Government of India. Their participation in the plantation efforts stands as a testament to the importance of collaborative action for a greener future.

Spearheaded by Mahesh Singh Jasrotia, Vice President – Operations, Radisson Blu Palace Resort & Spa, Udaipur, the drive is not limited to symbolic activity on June 5 but represents a sustained effort toward ecological consciousness. Over the course of the month, the resort team along with local partners and staff volunteers will plant a variety of native trees and shrubs across the resort premises and surrounding areas, aiming to restore biodiversity and build climate resilience.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Singh Jasrotia, Vice President of Operations said, “At Radisson Blu Udaipur, we believe true hospitality is about enriching lives—not just of our guests, but of our environment too. Our month-long plantation drive is an extension of our continued commitment to environmental responsibility. We’ve consciously integrated sustainability into our daily operations—from using solar energy sourced in collaboration with a plant near Bikaner to designing our atrium lobby for natural light, installing sensor-based LED lighting, and applying reflective exterior paint to reduce heat absorption. Sustainability isn’t a one-day commitment; it’s how we operate every day”

This initiative is part of the resort’s broader ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) mission, aligning with Radisson Hotel Group’s global sustainability goals. By turning World Environment Day into a month-long celebration, Radisson Blu Palace Resort & Spa is inspiring collective consciousness and setting a benchmark for responsible tourism in India.

In addition to energy efficiency, the resort has adopted several eco-conscious practices, including sustainable water management through rainwater harvesting, recycling programmes, and waste reduction initiatives. Guests are also encouraged to participate through awareness programmes, while local communities are employed and upskilled, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
