Outletcity Metzingen has appointed Janina Wittmann as its new Destination Marketing & Partnership Manager. This appointment underscores the brand’s ambition to accelerate growth in high-potential regions worldwide—particularly India, where an increasing number of outbound travellers are seeking premium European shopping experiences.

With outbound travel from India at an all-time high, Wittmann’s role will centre on amplifying Outletcity Metzingen’s visibility among Indian shoppers, forging strong travel trade partnerships, and executing targeted marketing campaigns that firmly position the destination as the premier shopping stop on European itineraries. Her appointment reflects Outletcity Metzingen’s commitment to engaging with one of the world’s most dynamic travel markets, known for its growing luxury appetite and enthusiasm for world-class shopping.

Speaking about her appointment, Janina Wittmann said: “With India’s rapidly growing economy, expanding global influence, and a vibrant community of travellers passionate about fashion and unique experiences, the opportunity is immense. Indian shoppers have a deep love for luxury and an eye for quality—qualities that align perfectly with Outletcity Metzingen’s world-class offering. My goal is to harness this potential, deepen our engagement with the Indian market, and make Outletcity a highlight of every traveller’s European journey.”

Outletcity Metzingen—home to more than 170 premium and luxury brands, including Europe’s largest GUESS outlet—has experienced exceptional growth from international markets, recording a 233% increase in visitors from India in 2023. This remarkable performance underscores the destination’s growing appeal among Indian travellers seeking a seamless combination of luxury shopping and authentic European experiences.

A graduate of Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU) with a bachelor’s degree in health and Tourism Management, Wittmann brings strong expertise in international tourism marketing, having managed key global markets at the State Tourist Board of Baden-Württemberg and honed her luxury retail skills at a regional department store.

Born and raised just minutes from Metzingen, Wittmann blends authentic local insight with a global perspective, combining a deep-rooted understanding of the region with an unshakable passion for travel and fashion. This unique combination positions her to craft high-impact destination marketing strategies that resonate with both international partners and discerning travellers worldwide.
