Moustache Brings 25-Year-Old King’s Abode Into Its Luxuria Portfolio in Ranakpur

Moustache Group of Hotels has brought the 25-year-old King’s Abode in Ranakpur into its Luxuria portfolio, adding a landscape-led resort spread across 8 hectares and comprising six distinct sections, 11 room categories, and three wedding lawns, around five kilometres from the Ranakpur Jain Temple. The property is designed for leisure travelers, families, celebrations, and destination weddings, while retaining the slower, more immersive character of a stay in Ranakpur.

Ranakpur has long drawn travellers for reasons that go well beyond a single monument. Set in the Aravalli hills, its 15th-century Jain temple is among the most important Jain pilgrimage sites in India and is known for its intricate marble architecture and 1,444 individually carved pillars. The wider Pali region also connects travellers to the forests and wildlife around Jawai and to Kumbhalgarh, giving Ranakpur a mix of pilgrimage, architecture, nature, and countryside travel that is unusual even within Rajasthan.

Its location also makes Ranakpur accessible for shorter leisure stays. Ranakpur lies roughly 90 km from Udaipur, with Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur serving as the nearest airport. Sadri and Desuri connect into the NH 162 corridor, while the property itself sits on Ranakpur Road.

The property is laid out across six distinct areas. Lily Court is centered around ponds filled with blooming lilies and fish, with porches overlooking the water. Guests can walk around the court or simply sit by the pond and spend time outdoors, while King’s Court combines a smaller cluster of rooms with the conference and banquet space, an enclosed restaurant, and an outdoor dining area used for breakfast and high tea. Garden Court has rooms arranged around a large central garden, Queen’s Court houses its more contemporary rooms, and Royal Pavilion includes the main swimming pool and two gardens.

King’s Grove, located to the left of the entrance, is the more wooded part of the property, with mature neem trees, a children’s play area, and space for nature walks. The landscape also includes around 10 varieties of flowering and fruiting trees, along with some palms. The size of the property becomes apparent simply by walking through it: covering the grounds can take close to 30 minutes without even entering its individual courts.

For weddings and celebrations, King’s Abode has three large lawns along with a banquet and conference facilities, gardens, and multiple dining spaces. Together, these allow the property to host everything from destination weddings and larger family celebrations to intimate gatherings and private functions.

Accommodation is spread across 11 room categories, ranging from Superior and Premium rooms to Junior and Presidential Suites. Some Superior rooms share gardens, making them suited to families travelling together, while other room clusters open onto shared terraces, offering additional common spaces for families and groups travelling together. Premium categories include access to shared pools, private plunge pools, and open-air showers.

Abhishek Khandelwal, co-founder and director of Moustache Group of Hotels, said, “King’s Abode already has something that takes years to create: mature landscapes and a strong sense of place with spaces that have grown naturally into the property. Our approach in Ranakpur is to work with that character rather than overwrite it. Luxuria gives us the opportunity to sharpen the stay experience, open up more of the property to guests, and build a resort that works equally well for a quiet family holiday, a celebration, or simply a few days spent outdoors in the Aravallis.

King’s Abode marks the 9th property under Luxuria by Moustache, strengthening the group’s premium hospitality portfolio in Rajasthan. The addition builds on Moustache’s growing presence across leisure destinations and its focus on expanding Luxuria through distinctive, experience-led properties with a strong sense of place. Moustache currently operates across three formats, Moustache Hostels, Moustache Select, and Luxuria by Moustache, and reported 37 operational properties as of July 2026. The group is now working towards an 80-property portfolio by 2030 through a destination-led, asset-light expansion strategy.
