Bandra welcomes a bold new culinary destination as MIRAI opens its doors, bringing together the elegance of Japanese cuisine and the vibrant intensity of Korean flavours under one refined roof. Founded by Saamir Chandnani and Rinchen Angchuk, MIRAI is envisioned as a “Yin and Yang affair”, a seamless balance between the subtle, minimalist precision of Japan and the bold, fiery spirit of Korea. Located in the heart of Bandra, the restaurant offers a thoughtfully immersive dining experience that celebrates authenticity while embracing contemporary innovation.

At the core of MIRAI’s identity is live culinary theatre, its defining USP. The restaurant features a 10-seater Live Teppanyaki counter where chefs perform with flame and finesse, transforming premium ingredients into a choreographed spectacle. An intimate sushi bar offers curated Omakase experiences rooted in precision and seasonality, while interactive Live Korean Hotpots and table-side Korean BBQ invite guests into a more communal, hands-on ritual. A dedicated ramen offering further rounds out the experience, bringing comfort and craft together in every bowl. Together, these live formats create a dynamic, multi-sensory journey rarely found in Bandra’s dining landscape.

Saamir Chandnani, Co-Founder: “We wanted MIRAI to feel like a stage where food becomes a performance. The live formats: Teppanyaki, Korean BBQ, and Omakase, allow guests to experience the craft, energy, and theatre of the cuisine up close.” Rinchen Angchuk, Co-Founder: “Our vision was to create an immersive space where diners are part of the experience, not just spectators. Each live counter brings authenticity and interaction that truly defines MIRAI.”

The menu reflects this duality with a seamless interplay of tradition and modern expression. From Korean Mandu Jeongol hotpot and expertly grilled Korean BBQ to Vegan Unagi Donburi, specialised sushi selections, and soul-warming ramen, each dish is grounded in authenticity while designed for the contemporary diner. Premium seafood sourced from global markets, carefully selected seasonings, and time-honoured techniques shape a menu that moves effortlessly between delicate sashimi and robust Korean stews.

Designed by Mini Bhatt’s studio, MIRAI’s interiors echo the restaurant’s philosophy of balance and restraint. Warm wooden façades layered with translucent rice paper create a composed entrance, while soft, layered lighting transitions the space effortlessly from day to evening. A sculptural central light installation anchors the room, and the striking black-and-white marble Omakase counter, softened with warm wooden detailing, reinforces intimacy and craftsmanship. The result is a calm, refined environment where design enhances the ritual of food, conversation, and shared moments.

Step into a new world of Japanese and Korean fine dining at MIRAI — we can’t wait to welcome you to experience it firsthand.
