Minimalist Hotels is set to debut in Udaipur with the launch of a boutique heritage property overlooking the iconic Lake Pichola by the end of May 2026. Located on Bhimparmeshwar Marg, the upcoming property reflects the brand’s signature approach of blending thoughtful minimalism with immersive hospitality experiences.

Housed within the historic Bawlas ki Haveli, a heritage property dating back to 1820 that was once gifted to a Rajput noble of the royal court of Mewar in Udaipur, Minimalist – Lake Pichola Edit carries forward the timeless charm of old Udaipur. Originally used to host distinguished guests during the princely era, the haveli reflects the richness of traditional Rajasthani architecture through its terracotta walls, intricate jharokhas, and heritage-inspired detailing.

Reimagined through Minimalist Hotels’ contemporary design philosophy, the space has been thoughtfully restored to offer guests a stay experience that feels deeply rooted in culture while embracing modern comfort and understated luxury.

The section that now houses the property was historically known as the Mardana Haveli, a space reserved for hosting male guests, as the purdah system was prevalent during that time. Today, while the space has been thoughtfully reimagined for the modern traveller, it still retains elements of its royal past and architectural heritage.

Designed as an intimate boutique retreat, the property will feature 18 curated rooms across categories, including the Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Superior Twin, and Superior King rooms. Each room has been crafted to balance comfort, simplicity, and aesthetic sensibilities while preserving the essence of the original structure.

The property will also introduce Cabami, a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking the panoramic views of Lake Pichola and the city skyline. Envisioned as a vibrant dining destination, Cabami will offer guests a seamless transition from relaxed daytime experiences to indulgent evenings complemented by scenic views and elevated culinary offerings.

“Udaipur has always been a city that leaves a lasting impression with its beauty, culture, and timeless charm. With this property, we wanted to create more than just a stay, we wanted to build an experience that feels deeply connected to the soul of the city while reflecting the simplicity and thoughtful design philosophy of Minimalist Hotels. Every element of the space has been curated with intention, and we’re excited to finally bring our brand to Udaipur,” said Gautam Munjal, Founder of Minimalist Hotels.

The launch marks a significant milestone for the brand as it continues to expand its footprint across India’s evolving boutique hospitality landscape, catering to modern travellers seeking meaningful, design-led, and culturally immersive stays.
