In the heart of South Delhi, where the millennia-old silhouette of Qutub Minar whispers the secrets of bygone eras, a new star has risen on the city’s gastronomic horizon—Mi Piaci. Translating to “I like you” in Italian, Mi Piaci is much more than words—it’s a promise served up on a platter, and an invitation to fall in love, fork in hand.
The brainchild of hospitality maven Priyank Sukhija and Italian maestro Lorenzo, Mi Piaci breathes authentic Italian elegance into the tree-lined precincts of Ambawatta One, Mehrauli. With a clear and breathtaking view of Qutub Minar from every seat, it’s a restaurant that wears its location like a crown, adding a touch of old-world charm to every modern culinary journey.
At Mi Piaci, authenticity is the name of the game. An all-Italian team stands shoulder to shoulder with Sukhija and Lorenzo, ensuring each dish sings with traditional flavours and flair. The staff’s enthusiasm is infectious, wearing their hearts on their sleeves and sharing their joy with every guest who walks in. The air is filled with inviting music, laughter, and the clinking of glasses, as lively ambience and impeccable hosting weave together an unforgettable afternoon, leaving patrons coming back for seconds.
To dine here is to take a grand tour of Italy, course by course. The Ravioli Fritti—crisp, golden pillows of vegetable-stuffed pasta bathed in silky parmesan fondue—are an opening act that steals the show. Involtini di Verdure comes next, where grilled vegetable rolls wrap around ricotta and walnuts for a symphony of earthy flavours.
No Italian affair is complete without ravioli, and the Plin Piemontesi rises to the occasion, rich with ricotta, lamb demi-glace, and a snowy drizzle of pecorino fondue. The Risotto allo Zafferano, creamy with saffron and finished with a sumptuous lamb demi-glace, offers comfort in every spoonful, painting the plate gold.

The pizzas here are a slice of Italian paradise—whether it’s the earthiness of Pizza Tartufo infused with truffle cream and fresh mushrooms, or the simplicity of a Margherita, crowned with vibrant basil and extra virgin olive oil. Purists will swoon over Pizza Carbonara, with golden yolks and pancetta, while Pizza Prosciutto delivers Parma’s finest to your table.
Carnivores find solace in the Costine di Agnello: lamb chops, crisped to perfection, golden outside and meltingly tender inside. Vegetarians are treated to Parmigiana di Melanzane, where layers of eggplant mingle with tomatoes, basil, mozzarella and parmesan in a molten embrace.
But it isn’t just the mains that steal the limelight. Dessert here is a performance, not an afterthought. The Tiramisu’ Mi Piaci is whisked up live at your table, a theatrical delight of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone clouds and cocoa. Millefoglie wraps up the meal in a flurry of flaky pastry, citrus cream and diplomat cream, leaving sweet memories to linger long after the last bite.
Lorenzo told TW, “Contrary to popular belief, Italian cuisine extends far beyond just pizza and pasta. We’re here to offer a variety of delicacies from different regions of Italy. You’ll also notice our pizza has a crunchier texture than usual. Additionally, we are always developing signature dishes that harmoniously blend Italian flavors with Indian tastes.”

More than a meal, an afternoon at Mi Piaci is a love letter from Italy—where every detail, from the music to the service, speaks of the passion and precision poured in by Lorenzo and his team. As the sun sets behind Qutub Minar and the city glimmers awake, Mi Piaci’s promise rings true: an invitation, heartfelt and sincere, for guests to say, “I like you”—one delicious bite at a time.
