Mezcalita has opened the doors to its newest home in Borivali. Following successful launches in Churchgate, Bandra, and Bengaluru, Mezcalita continues its expansion journey by bringing its signature blend of authentic Mexican cuisine, agave-forward cocktails, and lively cantina culture to Borivali.

Located on the rooftop of Sky City Mall, the new Mezcalita has been designed as a vibrant social destination where guests can immerse themselves in the flavours and spirit of Mexico. Inspired by the colourful streets, markets, and cantinas of Mexico, the new Cantina delivers an immersive experience that celebrates the country’s rich culinary heritage while resonating with Borivali’s growing appetite for unique dining concepts.

At the heart of Mezcalita’s offering is a menu that showcases the diversity of regional Mexican flavours. Bringing this culinary heritage to life is Chef Jonatan Torres Muñoz, a Mexican chef with over 25 years of experience who works alongside the Mezcalita team to deliver an authentic dining experience in India.

Alongside its much-loved cantina favourites, the new outpost introduces a dedicated selection of Jain Sabores and an extensive vegetarian menu, ensuring there is something for every palate. Guests can indulge in signature dishes such as Chip & Dip Méxicana, Chilaquiles, Street Cart Corn, Habanero Muerte Picante, handcrafted tacos, burritos and tortas, as well as hearty mains like Fideo Seco, Flautas Ahogadas and 24-Hour BBQ Pork Ribs. The experience is rounded off with decadent desserts including Tres Leches de Cereza and Cinnamon Churros.Complementing the food is Mezcalita’s signature cocktail programme, a celebration of Mexico’s iconic agave spirits. Featuring tequila- and mezcal-based creations inspired by the spirit-making journey, the cocktail menu combines traditional influences with contemporary mixology. Signature serves include Cha-Chinga, Oaxaca to Osaka, La Pomela, and the brand’s popular Margarita Pitchers, designed for sharing and social occasions.

The interiors at Mezcalita Borivali, further elevate the experience, bringing together Mexican artistry and local influences. Guests are welcomed by a hand-painted façade, vibrant murals by artist Senkoe, handcrafted décor elements, colourful crochet installations, and a striking 68-foot serape-inspired canopy that transforms the rooftop into a festive cantina setting. Thoughtful references to Borivali’s proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park create a unique dialogue between Mexican culture and the neighbourhood’s local identity, making Mezcalita a distinctive addition to Sky City Mall’s ever-expanding roster of experiential dining destinations.

Rizwan Amlani, Head of Brand Mezcalita and La Taqueria by Mezcalita, says, “Opening our newest Mezcalita cantina in Borivali feels like an exciting next chapter in our journey. From Churchgate to Bandra and Indiranagar (Bangalore), we’ve always chosen neighbourhoods with a strong sense of culture, energy, and community. As Mumbai’s dining landscape continues to evolve, we’re seeing growing demand for immersive concepts beyond the city’s traditional F&B hubs, and Borivali stood out as the perfect location for Mezcalita’s next home. We’re excited to bring our love for authentic Mexican food, agave spirits, and vibrant culture to this thriving part of the city.”

Chef Jonatan Torres Muñoz says “Food has always been my way of connecting people to culture, tradition, and shared experiences. With Mezcalita’s newest cantina, I’m excited to bring that philosophy to life and share the authentic spirit of Mexican cuisine with even more guests.”

Led by Rizwan Amlani, Chef de Cuisine Jonatan Torres Muñoz, and Brand Mixologist Sachin Yadav, Mezcalita Borivali continues the brand’s commitment to delivering authentic flavours, memorable hospitality, and immersive experiences that transport guests straight to the heart of Mexico.

More than just a Cantina, Mezcalita Borivali is an invitation to slow down, gather with friends and family, and celebrate the simple joys of good food, great drinks, and shared moments. Because at Mezcalita, every day is a fiesta.
