    MBD Group Celebrates 69 Glorious Years of Excellence and Innovation

    MBD Group proudly celebrates its 69th Establishment Day, marking nearly seven decades of excellence in education, hospitality, real estate, retail, and more. Founded in 1956 by the visionary Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra Ji, MBD Group has consistently stayed ahead of the curve with a steadfast commitment to innovation, social responsibility, and quality.

    From a single bookstore in Jalandhar to a global enterprise, the MBD journey is one of relentless growth, empowerment, and transformation. Today, the Group stands as a beacon of trust and leadership in every vertical it operates in.

    This year, the 69th Establishment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and unity across MBD offices and properties, including MBD House Delhi, Jalandhar, Radisson Blu MBD Hotel Noida and other offices spread across the globe.

    The event began with a grand introduction followed by a heartfelt audio-visual tribute to our Founder, Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra. A moving speech by Satish Bala Malhotra, Chairperson of MBD Group, set the tone for the evening, emphasizing the importance of values and vision that continue to drive MBD forward. The traditional lamp lighting ceremony was held, followed by the MBD Pledge and cake-cutting ceremony, added a sense of unity and celebration to the occasion. A powerful Opening Act – “O Shera”, featuring both internal and external performers, including a martial arts showcase, wowed the audience and set the stage for the celebrations to come.

    Engaging performances like the Team Skit, HOD Act – “Aya Re Toofan”, and multiple award segments celebrated the talent, commitment, and achievements of MBDians across departments and regions.

    Monica Malhotra Kandhari, Managing Director of MBD Group, delivered a compelling speech on the power of innovation in education/ Edtech, highlighting the impact of initiatives like AASOKA and the Love to Learn campaign, which continues to transform classrooms and provide tech-driven learning to schools, including those serving underprivileged children.

    One of the event’s most heartwarming highlights was the recognition of MBD employees and their families. Scholarships were awarded to the children of MBDians, acknowledging their academic efforts and aspirations. Employees were also honored with appreciation awards for their outstanding contributions throughout the year in their respective domains, a true celebration of the spirit of Life@MBD. Audio and visuals showcasing Ashok Karya, our CSR initiative and People and Culture Engagement reflected the spirit of Life@MBD, spotlighting stories and memories from across 60+ offices in India and abroad.

    Sonica Malhotra Kandhari, Joint Managing Director, concluded by sharing her vision for growth in hospitality, retail, and sustainability. She emphasized the importance of innovation and delivering meaningful experiences across all sectors, while staying true to the values of her beloved father and MBD Group’s founder, Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra. She also expressed heartfelt appreciation and affection for every MBDian, acknowledging their dedication and contributions.

    Over the past years, MBD Group has actively undertaken a range of impactful CSR initiatives rooted in the values of compassion, inclusivity, and community upliftment. This year, these efforts were officially brought together under a dedicated CSR identity, Ashok Karya launched in honor of our Founder, Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra Ji, whose life and legacy continue to inspire meaningful change. Under Ashok Karya we organised art exhibition showcasing the talents of godly-abled children, resulting in the sale of artworks worth ₹7 lakh and the sales was taken care by the members of MBD Group only, the launch of the Robotics Lab on Wheels to bring STEM education to remote and underprivileged areas, were not only executed but deeply appreciated during the 69th Establishment Day celebrations. The event served as a platform to reflect on these initiatives and to reaffirm the Group’s unwavering commitment to expanding its social impact in the years ahead, carrying forward the vision and values of our Founder.

    The day concluded with the MBD Anthem, a collective thank-you note, and the opening of the Hi-Tea, bringing everyone together in celebration.

    With its unwavering focus on quality, innovation, and social impact, MBD Group is more committed than ever to shaping a better tomorrow for learners, communities, and the nation. Here’s to 69 years of legacy, and many more to come.
