Bangkok, April 4, 2024: Marriott Bonvoy is inviting its experience-seeking guests to come together this April and immerse themselves in the spirit of Songkran, the iconic Thai New Year water festival.

Traditionally, Thai families would take part in gentle water-pouring rituals to wash away the problems of the past and step into the new year feeling fully refreshed and revitalized. Over the years, this elegant act of cleansing has evolved into a nationwide water party, as revelers gather on the streets of towns and cities across the kingdom and playfully soak each other with water! To mark this magical time of year, Marriott Bonvoy’s hotels and resorts in the “Land of Smiles” have revealed a series of exclusive dining offers, plus uplifting activities and value-added benefits for travelers who book premium rooms, suites and villas under the “Stay Elevated, Stay Elite” campaign.

In Bangkok, the Maha Songkran World Water Festival extravaganza will take place from 11-15 April, with celebrations and parades across the city. Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong will let Marriott Bonvoy members “Munch and Match” this Songkran with a special F&B offer – one drink and the “Moxy All-Day Selection” menu for only THB 399++. And Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok is helping all ages to stay refreshed with its “Mahachai Coconut Ice Cream” promotion at MoMo Café from 12-16 April.

Le Méridien Bangkok sets the scene for fun-filled festivities from 13-15 April with an outdoor Songkran Party, mini foam party, and a choice of Thai delights for just THB 80 net per dish, The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok will present “Khao Chae,” the Thai New Year specialty of cool jasmine-scented rice and side dishes at The House of Smooth Curry from just THB 950++ per set, and The St. Regis Bangkok will treat diners to a stunning six-course “Discovery” set menu at VIU from 12-15 April, priced at THB 1,500++ per person.  Explore hotels in Bangkok, and stay in style at Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels.

Families and friends who want to escape the city can enjoy Songkran on the shores of Thailand’s gulf coast in Cha Am, where guests can unwind just steps from the sea at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, and in Rayong where highly authentic experiences await with the Wan Lai Festivals in Baan Pae and Pluak Daeng. Serene seafront stays and exclusive activities are available at Rayong Marriott Resort & Spa. In Pattaya, where the celebrations traditionally last longer than anywhere else, a series of upbeat events will be staged from mid-to late April, including the Wan Lai Festival, Flow Day Water Festival, and Kong-Khaw Pattaya Festival. Party-goers can stay in style at Courtyard by Marriott North Pattaya or Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa.

Northern Thailand is the spiritual home of Songkran, and guests who stay at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel can enjoy auspicious Song Nam Phra activities at 11 temples across the city from throughout April, plus the lively Water War in Chiang Mai on 13 April. Alternatively at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, travellers can discover the delights of the Paweni Pi Mai in Chiang Rai, or head to the banks of the Mekong River for the Chiang Saen Songkran Festival.

In Phuket, guests can indulge in a choice of upbeat celebrations across the island. The Patong Festival on the Beach will be an exhilarating extravaganza, while the cultural traditions of Songkran will be embraced in Phuket’s Old Town with the Phuket Heritage Wave. Marriott Bonvoy puts travelers in the heart of both destinations, with options including Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, Courtyard by Marriott Phuket, Patong Beach Resort, and Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town.
