Mai Mai, the modern East Asian kitchen known for its intimate, storytelling-led dining experience, enters Chapter Two with its new space on MG Road, Bengaluru. Following the overwhelming response to its Indiranagar outlet, the brand continues to grow its community while staying rooted in its warm and comforting ethos. What began as a small, instinct-driven space in Indiranagar now unfolds into a setting that carries the same spirit, while retaining the intimacy and emotional resonance that define it.

With 35 covers across indoor and outdoor seating, the space feels more social and dynamic, while holding on to its layered aesthetic. Nearly half of the space is dedicated to the kitchen, an ode to the team behind MaiMai, shaped by their needs to allow for greater ease, flow and focus in the way each dish comes together. An open kitchen anchors the space, bringing visibility, movement and craft into the dining experience, while the layout maintains a seamless connection between food and guest interaction.

The menu presents a selection of new dishes and will continue to evolve with more additions over time, while continuing to serve many of the favourites from the earlier chapter.  Signatures like Korean Bibimbap, Egg-wrapped Fried Rice, and the Scotch-kissed Mousse remain central to the experience, alongside additions such as Juicy Steamed Mala Oil Wontons, Goguma Karaage, Char Sui Roast Pork, Ginger Scallion Steamed Fish, and Celery Chicken Stir Fry. Guests can also explore Sizzling Stone Bowls, including the Sizzling Oyako Donburi and Char Sui Roast Pork Noodles, as well as the Phuket Night Market Kale Fried Rice. The experience concludes with desserts like the Forest Cherry Rum Cake, offering a comforting finish. These new additions will also be introduced at the Indiranagar outlet soon, extending the evolving menu across both spaces.

The wine, sake and soju-led beverage program at Mai Mai has been curated by Ganga Gahle, ranked among India’s top sommeliers by Culinary Culture Co. and co-founder of the Wine Community Bangalore, and is designed to feel both refined and approachable. Built around balance and depth of flavour, the program features a mix of cocktails that are expressive yet easy to enjoy. Highlights include the MaiMai Picante, Golden Sakura Spritz, Yuzu Blossom Spritz, Seoul Jasmine Iced Tea, and Ginger Lemongrass Wine, each offering a distinct flavour profile ranging from citrusy and refreshing to floral and aromatic. These are complemented by a versatile sake selection spanning Ginjo, Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, and Sparkling styles. The Zero-Proof Dry Bar further extends the experience with signatures such as the Picante, Yuzu Old Fashioned, and Signature Salted Caramel Coffee, offering a bold, smooth, and indulgent finish.

Speaking about the launch, Yash and Megha Bhatia, co-founders of Mai Mai, said: “The love and patience our guests showed us at our first space truly shaped this decision. We’ve been listening closely to the response and experiences from Chapter One in Indiranagar, and that has guided us as we step into this new phase, introducing newer elements while holding on to everything that defines MaiMai: warmth and comfort. At the same time, it was important for us to create a kitchen that gives our team the space they deserve, because the experience begins with them.”

For Mai Mai, every step forward has been guided by instinct, timing, and the evolving needs of its community. This new chapter reflects a continued commitment to creating spaces that feel personal, welcoming, and deeply considered, where every element, from food to design, comes together with purpose. With its MG Road address, Mai Mai further strengthens its position as one of Bengaluru’s most distinctive and emotionally resonant dining experiences.
