Madhya Pradesh, June 2024: To enhance tourism and provide swift, convenient travel options, Madhya Pradesh is set to launch its intrastate air taxi service on June 9, 2024. The service aims to make exploring key destinations such as Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, Indore, Khajuraho, and Jabalpur easier for travellers.
This new service, introduced under the PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva initiative, promises to significantly reduce travel time, allowing tourists to experience the state’s rich cultural heritage with ease. Madhya Pradesh Tourism officials have highlighted that this initiative seeks to offer a seamless travel experience, encouraging more visitors to explore the region.
Ticket prices for the air taxi service will vary based on destination and route. For instance, a trip from Bhopal to Jabalpur will cost approximately INR 9,000, while traveling from Bhopal to Khajuraho is priced at INR 15,000. Travellers will have the option to choose between seat sharing and private charter bookings, catering to different preferences and budgets.
Madhya Pradesh, often referred to as the heart of India, attracts tourists from around the globe with its wealth of cultural heritage, architectural marvels, and natural beauty. Highlights include the majestic Sanchi Stupa and the breathtaking Bhedaghat Marble Rocks, making the state a must-visit destination.
In addition to this initiative, India’s aviation ministry has launched the Urban Air Mobility project, aiming to introduce air taxi services nationwide by 2026. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has established several technical committees to oversee the project, which has garnered significant interest from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
