New Delhi: Le Méridien New Delhi has redefined festive décor this year with the unveiling of its “Consciously Festive” Christmas Tree — a striking 23-foot installation crafted from 300 kilograms of responsibly sourced e-waste. The eye-catching creation, presented in collaboration with certified recyclers, transforms discarded electronics into an artistic statement that merges sustainability, craftsmanship, and conscious luxury.

The unveiling ceremony was led by His Excellency Mr. Kimmo Lähdevirta, Ambassador of Finland to India, accompanied by the First Lady. The evening also featured the grand reveal of the hotel’s Advent Calendar, offering daily surprises from exclusive dining offers to festive treats.

Speaking at the lighting ceremony, Ambassador Lähdevirta praised the hotel’s innovative approach:
“This tree is not just a decoration; it becomes a symbol of reflection and creativity. By turning the Christmas tree into a platform for awareness, the hotel beautifully shows how celebrations can also encourage care for our environment. It is a joyful reminder that festive spirit and thoughtful action can go hand in hand.”

Continuing its theme of mindful celebration, the event also marked the launch of the hotel’s E-Waste Drop Box, aimed at encouraging guests to adopt responsible disposal habits. The evening was filled with festive cheer — from children writing heartfelt letters to Santa to interactive coffee art displays, chef-led workshops, and a lavish Christmas buffet.

Ms. Meena Bhatia, Vice President and General Manager of Le Méridien New Delhi, reflected on the deeper message behind the display:
“Festive installations should be more than ornamental — they should embody values… we create not just beauty but meaning.”

The celebrations will continue throughout December, including the much-anticipated Christmas Hamper Showcase (launching 10 December) and a lineup of festive dining experiences on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The hotel will conclude the season with its signature New Year’s Eve Celebration Package on 31 December, ensuring the spirit of sustainability resonates into 2026.

With artistry, community spirit, and environmental consciousness intertwined, Le Méridien New Delhi’s Consciously Festive tree stands as a radiant reminder that luxury and responsibility can beautifully coexist.
