A trip to Ladakh is an adventure like no other, where you’ll be surrounded by snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, and a culture unlike any other. As you embark on this journey, you’ll leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enter a world of serene beauty and tranquillity.

Well, if you’re planning to visit now, you’ll be happy to know that the 4th edition of Ladakh Ice Climbing Fest is back. The fest will be hosted in the Ganglas village in Leh from 1st February to 5th February.

It’s the perfect time to get your gear ready, including essentials like ice axes and crampons, as they will be necessary for the competition. It’s a dream come true for adventure enthusiasts, with a combination of chilly winds and towering ice walls.

The festival will feature ice climbing and various other competitions, with organisers providing the essential equipment. Who cares if you’re just getting started? Participants of all ability levels, from beginners to specialists, are welcome to attend the event.

In preparation for this spectacular occasion, the Ladakh Mountain Guide Association (LMGA) is building an ice wall in Gangla’s hamlet. Many thrill seekers have already indicated strong interest. The organisers anticipate a large gathering this year, not only from Leh-Ladakh but also from throughout the world.

The Ladakh Ice Climbing Festival is an event that brings together people from different cultures to share their passion for the exciting sport of ice climbing in the Himalayas. The team at LMGA starts working early in the morning, despite the harsh cold winds. They manage the flow of the streams and the waterfall, creating a sheet of ice that covers the steep slope. With the help of equipment such as ice axes and crampons and the skills of young climbers, the remote Ganglas Valley is transformed into a climbing paradise.
