Kala-Tarangini: The Delhi Kala Festival 2026, in association with Delhi Tourism, will present Parijat Haran, a special Sattriya dance-drama showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Assam and India’s classical performing arts traditions.
The presentation will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the National School of Drama, New Delhi.
Parijat Haran draws from the rich storytelling tradition of Sattriya, one of India’s classical dance forms originating in Assam. The presentation will bring together dance, music, theatre and traditional narratives to offer audiences an immersive experience rooted in India’s cultural heritage.
The event will be attended by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Shri Kapil Mishra, Minister of Art, Culture & Language and Tourism, Government of NCT of Delhi.
As part of Kala-Tarangini: The Delhi Kala Festival 2026, the presentation aims to celebrate India’s diverse artistic traditions while creating greater awareness and appreciation of classical and traditional performing arts among audiences in the capital.
With its emphasis on cultural preservation, artistic excellence and heritage storytelling, Parijat Haran promises to be an evening of traditional Sattriya dance and music, offering audiences an opportunity to experience a distinctive facet of Bharat’s rich performing arts legacy.
