Gurugram, October 16, 2023: Homegrown luxury hospitality brand jüSTa Hotels & Resorts will open its first resort in Corbett on October 19, 2023. The jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett is the company’s 22nd hotel in the country and its third property in Uttarakhand after Mukteshwar and Rishikesh. It is also the company’s first wildlife resort.

The boutique resort is located in Kyari, which is a small hamlet surrounded by forest from all sides, 6 kms away from the state highway through a pitched village road. The Bijrani Zone of the Jim Corbett National Park is located 9.5 kms away from the resort while the Sitavani Zone is 8 kms away.

According to jüSTa Hotels & Resorts’ Founder & CEO Mr Ashish Vohra, “We are looking at building an itinerary-based business where we can offer an entire tourist circuit to the guests, which would allow them to cover all the major destinations in a region in a span of 7-10 days. This property in Corbett is part of our expansion plans in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, which has a huge potential for tourism. We are looking at developing a similar circuit in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh as well.”

He added, “We were looking for a property in Corbett for quite some time but wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding guests and party crowd that a large segment of the resorts in the area is attracting nowadays. Hence, this property, which is in a quiet part of the National Park, was the perfect fit for our foray into the wildlife resort category.”

Spread over 1.1 acres of area, almost half of which is green land, jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett is located 200 meters away from a river stream. The resort has 24 rooms in two categories – Superior Room with Balcony and Deluxe Room with Balcony. It also has a swimming pool with a kids’ pool, a multicuisine restaurant that can accommodate 48 people as well as a spa. There is also an in-house naturalist who can help make the guests’ wildlife experience more enriching and give a detailed insight into the flora and fauna of the region.

The Resort has been built away from the busy areas of the Jim Corbett National Park so as to give the guests a sense of living in the jungle and enjoy the forest bathing experience. The various buildings of the resort are built on the edges of the property, thereby making way for a massive garden in the centre.

The rooms at the Resort are spread across two blocks. Despite sharing a common wall, each room has a separate entrance door and balcony, creating a sense of individuality.

jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett promotes sustainability and eco-friendliness by recycling grey and black water separately. All the organic waste is composted and used as manure in the garden. To promote passive cooling, the roofs have been kept white. The insulation is provided with recycled bamboo and is held from below using locally woven mats. These mats are annexed with traditional Garhwali baskets, which are used as lights throughout the resort. The spa, which overlooks the forest, is built using scrap metal and leftover construction waste.

While Jim Corbett National Park attracts wildlife enthusiasts from across the country and the resort arranges safari in the National Park, visits to other major tourist attractions in the region can also be arranged for guests staying at jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett. These attractions include the Jim Corbett Museum in Dhangarhi, Corbett Falls, Garjiya Temple, Hanuman Dham Temple, and Barati Rau Waterfalls, all of which are within a 30 kms distance from the property.
