With the end of the “Swords of Iron” War, reduced travel warnings, and returning flights to Israel, the Ministry of Tourism is preparing for the arrival of about 130,000 tourists in December, including about 40,000 Christian pilgrims coming to celebrate Christmas.

The Ministry of Tourism is preparing for the arrival of tourists to celebrate Christmas in Israel at Christian holy sites. As part of the preparations, the ministry has invested over 600,000 NIS in improving the infrastructure of the city of Nazareth and decorating it, including lighting, fireworks, and more. The ministry has also invested about 250,000 NIS in marketing the Christmas events.

The central and festive processions that will take place in the city of Nazareth for Christmas are considered key events for both inbound and domestic tourism. Additionally, through the company for the development of Acre’s Old City and Nazareth, the ministry is organizing a Christmas market in the Courtyard of the Knights’ Halls in Acre.

The Ministry of Tourism maintains regular contact throughout the year with the heads of Christian denominations in Israel. For Christmas, the Director-General of the Ministry, Michael Izhakov, together with Rakefet Levy, Deputy Director-General of Tourism Experience and other representatives, visited senior figures from Christian denominations in Israel, including church leaders, to greet them and present them with a holiday gift.
