The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) hosted the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), one of the most pivotal tourism gatherings in the Mediterranean region, at EXPO Tel Aviv on 7-8 May 2025.

As a part of the Israel Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing efforts to deepen global tourism partnerships and position Israel as a safe and welcoming travel destination, IMTM welcomed 24 international tour operators from 11 countries including USA, UK, Italy, Germany, the Philippines, Brazil, France, South Korea, Russia, and Spain, and journalists from leading travel and tourism publications from across the globe, with India as one of the focus countries.

During their visit, the Indian delegates – comprising Chandrasekar Krishnakumar of PickYourTrail, Manoj Das of Tern Voyages, and Vanessa Mehra of Aaryan Holidays – also attended the IMTM Gala Evening at the Knights’ Halls in Akko and engaged with leading tourism stakeholders from Israel during networking sessions. IMTM 2025 offered a dynamic platform for travel trade professionals to showcase their destinations and stay informed on the latest industry trends through focused meetings and insightful seminars.

Ministry of Tourism Director-General Dani Shahar said, “We aim to welcome 7 million tourists by 2030. To achieve this, we are building smart strategies, long-term partnerships, and immersive experiences that go beyond the usual. India is a vital market for us and we are delighted to see growing interest and trust from the Indian travel fraternity.”

Along with attending IMTM, the attendees also explored Israel’s rich heritage in Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and new-age tourism offerings in Tel Aviv. Whether it was the coastal charm of Akko or the lively café culture of Tel Aviv, Israel left a lasting impression on them. Two members of the Indian travel trade fraternity also extended their stay to further explore Israel’s diverse attractions. It not only reflects Israel’s growing appeal among Indians, but also underlines how safe this country is for travellers.

With India emerging as one of the world’s fastest outbound tourism market, IMTM 2025 marked a significant step toward fostering deeper ties and greater cultural exchange between the two nations. It also boosted IMOT’s efforts to grow inbound tourism, by further strengthening connections with key travel trade and media representatives.
