New Delhi, December 11, 2024—The Eros Hotel in New Delhi transformed into a vibrant hub of Iranian culture today as the much-anticipated Iran Food Festival officially commenced. Running from December 11 to 17, the week-long celebration showcases Iran’s rich culinary artistry, history, and tourism, attracting food enthusiasts and culture aficionados alike.

The festival was inaugurated with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the opening of this grand event, which is jointly organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iran Culture House. The inaugural festivities commenced with a meet-and-greet featuring H. E. Dr. Iraj Elahi Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of India and diplomats and delegates from various Iranian institutions and other countries. This half-day session focused on building bridges in trade and tourism, providing a platform for discussions and the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) between Indian and Iranian stakeholders.

Over 100 attendees were treated to an exquisite Iranian lunch, showcasing regional flavours expertly curated by master chefs, highlighting Iran’s diverse gastronomy. The inaugural day also saw the attendance of esteemed dignitaries and representatives from countries including Mongolia, Tajikistan, and China.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, visuals showcasing the beauty of Iranian tourism and culinary delights were displayed on digital screens across the venue, enhancing the immersive experience for all attendees. The Eros Hotel’s grand presentation of the festival created an inviting atmosphere that encourages Indo-Iranian camaraderie through shared cultural experiences.

As the Iran Food Festival progresses, participants can look forward to a series of engaging programs. Highlights include Coffee Mornings with embassy officials, culinary competitions that invite participation from local chefs, and workshops designed to celebrate and educate attendees about Iranian cooking techniques. The festival will culminate in an Indo-Iranian Cultural Grand Dinner, promising an evening filled with authentic flavours and cultural performances.

The immersive décor and multimedia displays throughout the festival aim to transport attendees to the heart of Iran, making it an unforgettable experience for all participants. With a focus on authentic Iranian cuisine and cross-cultural exchanges, the Iran Food Festival stands to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster a deeper understanding of Iranian culture in India.
