IntrCity SmartBus announced the launch of its comprehensive 10-Point #SafeBus Promise, a safety-first framework aimed at strengthening safety standards and operational preparedness across long-distance bus travel in India.
Launched in response to the increasing need for enhanced passenger safety in intercity mobility, the #SafeBus Promise establishes mandatory foundational safety requirements designed to protect life and property, while serving as a minimum compliance benchmark for buses. The framework has been conceptualised to act as a guiding benchmark for evaluating bus safety standards and is expected to continuously evolve with stronger focus on hazard identification, risk analysis, and technology-led safety enhancements.
At a time when India is witnessing rapid expansion in highway infrastructure, organised mobility networks, and public transport usage, passenger expectations are also evolving beyond affordability and convenience to include greater reliability, accountability, and confidence while travelling. Through #SafeBus, IntrCity SmartBus aims to standardise and elevate safety practices across its fleet while reinforcing trust in intercity bus travel.
Built around four key pillars – prevention, preparedness, monitoring, and emergency response- the initiative integrates advanced technology with essential onboard safety infrastructure to create a smarter and safer travel ecosystem for passengers.

- Fire extinguishers for immediate response to fire-related incidents
- CCTV and GPS-enabled live monitoring for enhanced operational visibility and passenger security
- First-aid kits available onboard for immediate medical assistance
- Dual-driver policy on long routes to reduce fatigue and improve driving safety
- Public Address (PA) System for real-time communication with passengers
- Smart Driver Monitoring System to detect unsafe driving patterns and promote safer driving behaviour
- Fire Detection & Suppression System (FDSS) for early fire detection and automated response
