    National Zoological Park, New Delhi (Delhi Zoo) celebrated International Day of Forests on 21 March 2023. The theme for this year’s International Forest Day, “Forests and Health”, highlights the ecosystem services provided by forests like purification of water and air, carbon capture to fight climate change, and supply of life-saving medicines.

    Marking the importance of International Day of Forest, a plantation drive was conducted wherein all the staff members of the National Zoological Park planted saplings. A doodle art activity and an awareness session on Mission LiFE was conducted for the visitors at the Education Centre of National Zoological Park.

    The theme for #InternationalForestsDay 2023 is “Forests and Health.”
    Forests purify the water, clean the air, capture carbon to fight climate change, gives food and life-saving medicines.

    This event was conducted to create awareness among the participants about the importance of sustainable management of forest resources for combating climate change. The responsibility of every person to use the natural resources mindfully and conserve the environment for the future generations was emphasized.
