IndiGo has announced codeshare connections to Edinburgh, via Istanbul, effective May 8, 2023. IndiGo’s expanding network of codeshare destinations with Turkish Airlines now includes connections to 33 destinations in Europe. These new connections will offer travellers more options and easy access to Scotland, bolstering IndiGo’s vision of increasing international connectivity.

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of new codeshare connections to Edinburgh via Istanbul. Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital, and extremely popular with tourists. This new route will offer seamless connectivity and affordable options for Indian travellers to explore yet another new destination. IndiGo now connects 33 destinations in Europe with the addition of Edinburgh. We remain committed to delivering on our promise of affordable fares, on-time performance, and hassle-free service across our unparalleled network.”

Through its codeshare arrangement with Turkish Airlines, IndiGo has been adding connections to European destinations over the last few months. These codeshare connections provide access to the countries including Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, Hungary, Denmark, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, Malta, France, the Czech Republic, Israel, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Portugal.

Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, is a global hub for experiencing Scottish culture. It is well-known for its magnificent gallery and museum collections, thriving performing arts scene, and world-renowned festivals. The beating heart of Scotland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the largest number of listed buildings in the UK and is regarded as one of Europe’s most attractive cities. Many people come to the city for the stunning architecture, exciting nightlife, and culinary experience. Edinburgh’s few attractions include the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland, Calton Hill, and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

This connection will enhance tourist footprint in Istanbul, offering easy access to attractions like Hagia Sophia Mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, Bosphorus Strait, Istanbul Sea Life Aquarium, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum and Istanbul Cevahir Mall. These IndiGo’s flights will not only promote international tourism, trade, and commerce, but also make travel affordable to these destinations through direct connections and additional capacity.

These flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options to access destinations which help in building businesses and are known for their tourist attractions. Customers who wish to plan their travel can book tickets via our official website www.goIndiGo.in. The introduction of these flights will further bolster the airline’s international connectivity.
