IndiGo says its operations have stabilised after several days of heavy disruptions that left thousands of passengers stranded across the country. The airline reported a “considerable and consistent improvement” across its network, with over 1,800 flights operating today. This is a jump from roughly 1,650 flights the previous day.
The airline also said its on-time performance has climbed to 90 percent across the network, up from about 75 percent yesterday. All stations on its route map are now back in service, and the carrier claims that any cancellations in today’s schedule were communicated to passengers in advance.
According to IndiGo, the focus is now on speeding up recovery and customer assistance. The airline says it has already processed refunds worth INR 827 crore for cancellations up to 15 December, with the remainder under way.
Between 1 and 7 December, IndiGo arranged more than 9,500 hotel rooms and nearly 10,000 cabs and buses for stranded passengers. The carrier has also delivered over 4,500 misplaced bags and expects to clear the backlog within the next 36 hours. IndiGo says it is currently handling queries from more than two lakh customers every day across various communication channels.
The airline has urged passengers to check their latest flight status before heading to the airport and to use its refund portal or customer support services for assistance.
IndiGo reiterated that its operations remain compliant with FDTL norms and all safety regulations. The airline added that it continues to work with authorities to restore full normalcy.
The spokesperson closed with an apology to passengers affected by the disruptions and thanked travellers, employees and partners for their patience and support during the recovery period.
