Set amidst the serene foothills of the Shivaliks, WelcomHeritage Ramgarh is a remarkable blend of royal heritage and contemporary hospitality. With over 325 years of history, the ancestral quila has emerged as a preferred destination for weddings, leisure getaways, and corporate retreats. In this conversation with Travellers World, Tikka Jaideep Singh shares insights into the property’s unique offerings and evolving hospitality experiences.

With destination weddings increasingly becoming more experience-driven, how does WelcomHeritage Ramgarh position itself as a distinctive heritage wedding venue in the Chandigarh-Panchkula region?

Today’s couples want more than just a beautiful venue; they want a memorable experience for their guests. WelcomHeritage Ramgarh stands out because it offers real history and character that modern banquet halls simply cannot match. Our 17th-century ancestral Quila features stunning Rajput architecture, vintage courtyards, open terraces, sprawling lawns and beautiful hand painted details across the property.
Because we are a boutique property, hosting a wedding here feels like hiring your own private palace for the weekend. We help couples plan special itineraries around their celebrations—like grand royal welcomes, live folk music, and exquisite custom menus featuring authentic regional dishes. It gives guests the majestic feel of a royal wedding without the long travel time and in sync with current times.

WelcomHeritage Ramgarh beautifully blends over 325 years of history with modern luxury. How do you ensure that both leisure travellers and wedding guests experience this unique heritage character during their stay?

Our goal is to keep the historic soul of the property alive while providing all the modern comforts our guests expect. We make sure history is something you can actually live in, not just look at.

For leisure travellers, this means enjoying quiet moments on our open terraces, dining at our Diwan-Khana restaurant surrounded by old artwork, or relaxing in our various themed rooms. For wedding guests, the history becomes part of the fun. We use our historic courtyards for colorful daytime Mehendi functions, and the grand architecture serves as a beautiful natural backdrop for photos. At the same time, we provide top-tier luxury beds, excellent air conditioning, and seamless service so that everyone stays completely comfortable. There can be no better place, to solemnize a wedding, than the 350 year old Mandir Thakurdwara located centrally within the premises.

MICE travellers today seek venues that offer both functionality and memorable experiences. How does WelcomHeritage Ramgarh cater to corporate retreats, conferences, and offsite gatherings through its event spaces and hospitality offerings?

Corporate events are no longer just about sitting in a boardroom. Companies want inspiring spaces where teams can relax and connect. WelcomHeritage Ramgarh offers a great alternative to standard, plain city hotels while still providing top-notch professional setups.

We have a versatile mix of indoor and outdoor venues to handle different group sizes. For indoor conferences and gatherings, Durbar Hall I can accommodate up to 150 guests, while the larger Durbar Hall II can host up to 200 guests. We also offer Tafreeh, which is ideal for smaller, more intimate sessions of up to 100 people.

What corporate groups love most, however, is our outdoor space. Teams can easily move from a morning business meeting indoors to outdoor team-building activities or large gala dinners at our expansive lawn, The Baara, which can host up to 600 guests. It is an ideal environment for building team spirit and creative thinking.  Other than this we offer offsite excursions to the nearby farms and also trekking and hiking trails in the Khol Hi-Raitan Wildlife Santuary which is a short 10 mins drive from us.

With venues like Durbar Hall and expansive outdoor lawns, what kinds of celebrations and curated events have become especially popular at WelcomHeritage Ramgarh in recent years?

While large weddings are always popular, we have seen a big increase in smaller, more customized celebrations. Our indoor venues, Durbar Hall I and Durbar Hall II, have become favorite choices for milestone events like silver wedding anniversaries, big birthday parties, school alumni reunions and private family reunions, where people want a touch of royal elegance.

Outdoors, our lush green lawns—especially The Baara—and poolside areas are perfect for trendy, themed events. We host a lot of bright, outdoor Mehendi lunches, elegant musical nights, and even premium brand displays. Hosts love using our historic buildings as a beautiful backdrop to make their personal or corporate events feel extra special.

Beyond weddings and conferences, the property also appeals to leisure travellers looking for a quick escape from Delhi and Chandigarh. What are some of the signature experiences or local excursions guests particularly enjoy during their stay at WelcomHeritage Ramgarh?

WelcomHeritage Ramgarh is the perfect peaceful getaway for people looking to escape the busy life of Delhi or Chandigarh. Inside the hotel, guests love trying our authentic regional food. The Diwan Khana all day dining multicuisine restaurant is famous for its quality and consistent dining experience.  The recently added Café 1937 adds to the entire offering with its bright interiors, casual setting and vibrant menu.   It is also a wonderful place to just relax by the pool or take a quiet morning walk.

For those who want to explore, there is plenty to do nearby. Guests can play a round of golf at nearby courses, shop at Chandigarh’s famous Sector 17, or visit the Rose Garden, Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Leisure Valley and the peaceful ISKCON Temple. It gives you the best of both worlds: a vibrant historical retreat and easy access to local sights.
