As India’s hospitality landscape evolves, StayVista continues to push boundaries with its latest launch — StayVista Residences. Positioned between high-end hotels and standard serviced apartments, this new segment is designed for modern travellers seeking affordable luxury and long-term comfort in urban settings. Travellers World spoke with Amit Damani, Co-founder, StayVista, to learn more about the inspiration behind Residences, its unique model, and the brand’s plans for expansion.
What was the core inspiration or market gap that led StayVista to launch the new ‘Residences’ segment?
We saw an opportunity to bring affordable luxury to urban stays, a space between high-end hotels and standard serviced apartments. With StayVista Residences, we’re introducing a premium serviced apartment model that combines the warmth of a home with the reliability and service standards our guests expect from StayVista. StayVista Residences was born out of this gap. We wanted to bridge that divide, offering a space that feels like home yet runs with hotel-grade standards of comfort, safety, and service.
How does the Residences model specifically bridge the offering between traditional serviced apartments and high-end homestays?
Residences combine the soul of a home with the systems of a hotel. Each property is fully managed and maintained by StayVista, ensuring uniform quality, verified amenities, and responsive on-ground service. Our Residences feature social community lounges, flexible check-in and check-out, 8-inch premium mattresses with a curated pillow menu, air purifier, and an in-house restaurant designed to make long stays both comfortable and convenient.
Given StayVista’s foundation, how do you see the current ‘Villa Wedding’ trend evolving, and what role do your properties play in this market?
The ‘villa wedding’ trend is only getting stronger. The surge in villa weddings reflects a clear shift toward more personalized and intimate celebrations. Couples today are choosing smaller, curated gatherings over large-scale events, driving high demand for private villas in destinations like Goa, Coorg, Mussoorie, Alibaug, Delhi NCR, and Kasauli. Many of our villas are already booked well in advance for the upcoming wedding season. StayVista’s private homes, with their tailored services and customizable settings, have become preferred venues for both designer weddings and pre-wedding functions.
Beyond Pune, what is the immediate and long-term expansion strategy for rolling out the Residences segment across other key urban markets in India?
We plan to expand to Bengaluru and Mumbai, which have strong ecosystems of working professionals, expats, and business travellers seeking flexible, reliable stays. In the long term, the plan is to establish StayVista Residences in every major urban cluster across India.
What key post-pandemic travel trends, such as the shift towards longer ‘work-from-anywhere’ stays, are these Residences designed to cater to?
The pandemic redefined what “travel” means. People no longer travel just to take a break, but to live, work, and connect differently. Our Residences are built for this reality. They come with high-speed Wi-Fi, ergonomic workspaces, a café, and the flexibility to stay as long as you need — whether it’s a month-long workation or a six-month relocation. They’re ideal for guests who want to extend a work trip, families between homes, or those who simply prefer the familiarity of a fully managed home over a hotel.
