As regional Indian cuisines continue to take centre stage in India’s evolving dining landscape, diners are increasingly looking beyond familiar labels to discover the distinct culinary traditions that define each state. Reflecting this growing appreciation for regional Indian food, Idlinama brings the authentic flavours, heritage, and culinary traditions of Tamil Nadu to the heart of Delhi.

Located in Greater Kailash II, Idlinama moves beyond the conventional perception of “South Indian food” by celebrating the depth and diversity of Tamil Nadu cuisine through traditional recipes, native Tamil chefs, and time-honoured cooking techniques. Built around authenticity and family heritage, the restaurant offers a dining experience that showcases one of India’s richest regional cuisines in its truest form.

What truly sets Idlinama apart is its remarkable legacy. Founded by the family of Shri A. R. Venugopala Iyengar, the inventor of the Idli Grinder, the restaurant carries forward a culinary tradition that transformed the way generations have prepared one of India’s most loved comfort foods. Today, that legacy lives on through recipes passed down across generations, stone-ground, naturally fermented batter, and a commitment to preserving the authentic flavours of Tamil Nadu.

The menu celebrates the richness of Tamil Nadu cuisine through thoughtfully curated vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialities. Guests can experience Filled Idlis with flavourful chicken and mutton stuffing, ultra-soft idlis served with a variety of authentic curries from Tamil Nadu, Chettinad Biryani, Dosai with Chicken or Mutton Ghee Masala, Medu Vadai, Masala Vadai, and traditional Filter Coffee. Together these dishes reflect the authenticity, craftsmanship, and comforting flavours that define Tamil Nadu’s culinary heritage.

Commenting on the vision behind the brand, Rohit Rajagopalan, Co-founder of Idlinama, said, “Idlinama was born from our desire to share the authentic food we grew up eating with more people. Our family’s legacy inspired us to create a space where guests can experience Tamil Nadu cuisine the way we know it—authentic, comforting, and rooted in tradition. We hope every meal at Idlinama introduces guests to the true flavours of Tamil Nadu while making them feel as though they’ve been welcomed to our family’s dining table.”

Designed as a destination for breakfast, family meals, coffee catch-ups, and everyday dining, Idlinama brings together regional flavours, traditional cooking, and heartfelt hospitality in a contemporary setting. Through its commitment to authenticity and craftsmanship, the restaurant aims to establish Tamil Nadu cuisine as a distinct culinary experience for diners across Delhi NCR.
