The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences following the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 at Ahmedabad Airport. The ill-fated flight, en route to London, met with a devastating accident, resulting in the loss of precious lives and injuries to several passengers and crew members.

In a statement, Ravi Gosain, President of IATO, conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire membership of the association: “We are deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this devastating crash.”

The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the travel, tourism, and aviation industries. Air India, a cornerstone of India’s aviation sector, has played a pivotal role in connecting India to global destinations and supporting the growth of tourism. The IATO community stands in solidarity with Air India, its management, staff, and the grieving families during this challenging time.

“This is an extremely painful moment for the entire fraternity. We are confident that Air India will extend every possible support to the affected families and conduct a thorough inquiry to ensure such incidents do not recur,” added Gosain.

The IATO has joined the nation in mourning the tragedy and assured unwavering support to Air India as it navigates this difficult period.

“May the departed souls rest in eternal peace,” concluded the statement.

The crash serves as a somber reminder of the risks inherent in air travel and underscores the importance of stringent safety measures. As investigations unfold, the focus remains on supporting the victims’ families and ensuring accountability to prevent future incidents.
