Following two successful editions, Honk welcomes back Chef Katherine for the third edition of its Hakka food showcase, presenting a thoughtfully curated menu that explores the heritage, evolution, and enduring flavours of Hakka cuisine.

Rooted in tradition and shaped by journeys, Hakka cuisine carries with it stories of migration, adaptation, and identity. From its origins in the mountains of southern China to its presence across India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and beyond, the cuisine has embraced new influences while staying connected to its authentic flavours and heritage.

At Honk, Chef Katherine brings this culinary journey to life with a selection of favourites including the Yam Abacus Beads, Xinjiang Mutton and Mango Sago alongside new additions such as Hong Kong Style Curry Fish Balls, Imperial Pearl Meatballs and Taiwanese Three Cup Chicken. Known for its bold flavours, heritage recipes, and comforting classics, the menu celebrates the essence of Hakka cuisine through dishes crafted with authenticity and finesse.

Chef Katherine Lim, also known as Katherine Chung, hails from Kolkata’s historic Tangra district and is a leading advocate of Hakka culinary heritage in India. Beginning her journey as a home chef in 2020, she has since hosted acclaimed pop-ups across India, Hong Kong and Singapore. Drawing inspiration from her family’s migration history and generations of Hakka recipes, she continues to preserve authentic flavours and techniques while introducing them with today’s discerning diners.

Speaking on the return of the showcase, Manish Dayya, General Manager, Pullman and Novotel New Delhi Aerocity, said, “We are delighted to welcome Chef Katherine back to Honk for the third edition of her Hakka culinary showcase. The continued appreciation from our guests reflects their love for this cuisine, and we are pleased to bring back an experience that has become a valued part of Honk’s diverse culinary offerings.”

Hosted within the contemporary setting of Honk, the showcase offers guests an opportunity to experience the rich heritage of Hakka cuisine through authentic flavours, traditional techniques, and stories shaped by generations of migration and cultural exchange.
