HomeStays of India (HOI) and Nature’s Orbit Collective Foundation (NOCF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the Immersive Community & Cultural Education Programs — a Climate Action Literacy initiative designed to connect students with rural communities through responsible homestay experiences.

The partnership brings together HOI’s expertise in community-based homestay development and sustainable tourism operations with NOCF’s leadership in climate action literacy, sustainability education, and community engagement. Together, the two organisations aim to create meaningful experiential learning opportunities that foster environmental awareness, cultural understanding, and community resilience.
The collaboration will enable student immersion in rural and semi-rural communities through responsible homestays, cultural exchange, and experiential learning linked to climate action, sustainability, and indigenous knowledge systems. At the same time, it will promote community-led tourism models that generate local livelihoods while strengthening women’s participation and youth engagement in rural economies.
Our shared vision is to create opportunities for students to:
- Stay with local communities in carefully curated homestays
- Engage with indigenous knowledge, crafts, and sustainable living practices
- Participate in Climate Action Literacy modules aligned with UN SDGs and Mission LiFE
- Understand community-led models of sustainability, livelihoods, and cultural resilience
Speaking on the collaboration, Vinod Verma from HomeStays of India said: “Community-based tourism has the potential to become a powerful platform for climate awareness and sustainable livelihoods. Through this partnership with Nature’s Orbit Collective Foundation, we hope to bring climate action literacy closer to communities while creating transformative learning experiences for young people.”
Debabrata Rajkumar from Nature’s Orbit Collective Foundation added: “The Immersive Cultural Trail Program is rooted in the belief that climate literacy becomes meaningful when it is experienced in real communities. By working with HomeStays of India, we can connect students with grassroots sustainability practices and indigenous knowledge systems in a responsible and structured way.”
This partnership represents a shared commitment to building a scalable model where community-based tourism, climate education, and local livelihoods intersect to create long-term social and environmental impact.
