A Himalayan species of mammal called Himalayan Serow which was believed to be extinct by the experts was spotted in the Himachal Pradesh’s  Spiti valley recently.

The news has sparked a lot of excitement among the wildlife and nature conservationists and wildlife lovers across the world. The mysterious nature and extreme habitat of the species also make the re-discovery very significant.

Reports say this goat antelope was seen by many belonging to the village of Hurling. After the news of its sighting spread, a wildlife department team was able to take a few photos of the animal. In a recent image, the extinct goat was captured by a team of Wildlife Division Spiti & it is the first photographic record of this species in the cold desert.
