    Goa CM Pramod Sawant Sends Heartfelt Greetings on Goa Statehood Day

    In an official statement, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant extended his warm greetings and best wishes to Goans worldwide on the auspicious occasion of Goa’s 36th Statehood Day. Reflecting on the historical significance, CM Sawant acknowledged the journey towards statehood that commenced with the Opinion Poll in 1967, which upheld Goa’s separate and unique identity. May 30 holds immense significance in Goa’s political history, as it marks the day in 1987 when Goa became the 25th full-fledged state of the Indian Union.

    Highlighting the state’s progress, CM Sawant emphasized the abundance of opportunities in Goa, enriched by its breathtaking landscapes and hospitable people. He praised the state’s contributions to India’s development across various sectors. CM Sawant attributed these achievements to the dedication and efforts of the people, enabling the initiation and implementation of numerous developmental projects and programs by the state government.

    On this momentous occasion, CM Sawant urged everyone to honor and pay homage to the leaders, intellectuals, and the people of Goa who played a significant role in the attainment of statehood. He called for a collective resolution to make Goa self-sufficient (‘Swayampurna’) and achieve progress and development in all spheres in a self-reliant manner. Goa celebrates its Statehood Day annually on May 30.
