Food and Cultural Festival, Morjim
February 20th, 2023: Along with the ongoing Goa Carnaval 2023, the Goa Tourism Department has also organised a Food and Cultural Festival at Morjim to promote the Goan culture through authentic Goan cuisine, folk dance and music performances. The three-day food festival commenced on 19th February and will end on 21st February at Vidya Prasarak High School Ground, Morjim.
The first day of the Food and Cultural Festival was inaugurated by Hon. Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, in the presence of MLA of Mandrem Constituency, Shri Jit Arolkar, Shri Pravimal Abhishek, IAS, Director of Tourism and other respected dignitaries.
On the second day, MLA of Mandrem Constituency, Shri Jit Arolkar, MLA of Pernem, Shri Pravin Prabhakar Arlekar and other respected dignitaries were present at the festival. The day started with a cooking competition, followed by music and a special performance by renowned Bollywood artist Sophie Choudry.
A large number of locals actively participated by setting up unique food stalls, while the venue was packed with an energetic crowd.
