Bhopal – Fair Wear and Solidaridad have announced a groundbreaking alliance to address social and environmental challenges in the global garment supply chain.
With new EU and national due diligence laws on the horizon, the partnership aims to deliver a single, practical framework for brands that covers both human rights and environmental impact from cotton farms to factory floors.
The Game Changers:
– Real-world pilots in Asian production hubs to prove the integrated Human Rights & Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) model.
– Centralised risk intel combining Solidaridad’s green tools and Fair Wear’s labour rights expertise.
– Carbon-cutting initiatives that benefit brands, workers, and the planet.
Annabel Meurs (Fair Wear) says the collaboration will help brands “connect the dots” between people and planet issues, while Shatadru Chattopadhayay (Solidaridad Asia) calls it “concrete and measurable action for a regenerative fashion industry.”
By joining forces, Fair Wear and Solidaridad seek to create a blueprint for systemic change—showing how collaboration between experienced, government-supported organisations can help make integrated human rights and environmental due diligence the industry standard.
