However, the moment I stepped through the grand entrance of the Radisson Blu Palace Resort & Spa, trust me, all thoughts of the punishing heat were the last thing on my mind.
The architectural splendour that greeted me was a captivating blend of traditional Mewar design and modern elegance. Even before reaching the main lobby, I found myself entranced by the intricate details and the unmistakable touch of royal grandeur that permeated the space.
It was as if I had been transported back in time, to an era when the Mewar dynasty reigned over this enchanting region. The ornate archways, the delicate latticework, and the shimmering reflection of the ornamental pools all combined to create an atmosphere of timeless sophistication.
As I made my way through the lobby, I couldn’t help but marvel at the seamless integration of heritage and modernity. The luxurious amenities and contemporary comforts were perfectly juxtaposed against the backdrop of the hotel’s rich cultural heritage, offering a truly mesmerizing experience. The friendly staff welcomed me in the time-honoured Rajasthani way and swiftly escorted me to my Business Class Room.
The room was impeccably appointed, with all the modern amenities one would expect from the renowned Radisson brand. But it was the breathtaking view from my window that truly took me by surprise. Overlooking the serene Fateh Sagar Lake, the lush Aravalli hills in the distance seemed to soothe my soul, even in the heat of the day and the tiredness of the journey behind.
After settling in, I decided to indulge in a hot cup of tea and some delectable cookies. As I sipped and savoured, a profound sense of peace and relaxation washed over me – I could feel the stresses of city life melting away. This was clearly a place designed for true rejuvenation.
As evening approached, I made my way to the ‘Wok by the Lake’ restaurant, eager to experience the acclaimed Pan-Asian cuisine. The staff was well-trained and attentive, guiding me through the diverse menu. I settled on the garlic butter prawn, green Thai curry, and a refreshing mango lemon margarita mocktail – each dish an absolute revelation of flavours.
The next morning, I indulged in an elaborate breakfast spread at the Neel Mahal Restaurant, fuelling up for a leisurely stroll around the magnificent property. In addition to Wok by the Lake and Neel Kamal, the hotel boasts the Aravali Roof Top Restaurant and Aangan Terrace Bar – plenty of dining options to suit every mood and palate.

As I savoured a lunch of the famous ‘laal mash’ and garlic naan, accompanied by the heavenly Mewari rasmali to end with, thanks to the recommendation by the chef, I couldn’t help but marvel at the seamless blend of luxury and local flavour that permeated every aspect of my stay.
And just when I thought my weekend couldn’t get any better, Mother Nature decided to put on a show. As I strolled the rooftop, a sudden storm swept in, turning the skies dark and filling the air with the refreshing scent of rain. I found myself transfixed, sipping hot coffee and listening to the pitter-patter of raindrops on the lake, as the Aravalli hills danced in the distance.
At that moment, I realized that the Radisson Blu Palace Resort & Spa is more than just a luxurious hotel – it’s a destination that truly speaks to the heart. From the impeccable hospitality to the enchanting natural surroundings, every element of my stay had been carefully curated to create an unforgettable experience. I knew then that I would be back again, time and time again, to bask in the magic of this truly special place.
