Emerging Artist Khushi Khandelwal Debuts with Powerful Solo Exhibition “What’s Under My Skin?”
The All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS) Gallery in Delhi buzzed with energy as 20-year-old Khushi Khandelwal unveiled her debut solo exhibition, What’s Under My Skin?. The show, open from July 18 to July 24 at Gallery A, marks a significant milestone for the young artist, introducing audiences to her evocative exploration of the human body and psyche.
New Delhi: Standing quietly amid her thought-provoking canvases, young Khushi exuded a mix of calm confidence and humble shyness. When asked about her unconventional choice of subject, she explained, “I have always been fascinated by human anatomy, and I use depictions of different parts of the body to convey the emotions and stories within us. While this approach may add a grotesque element to my work, it is the way I choose to express my feelings.”
Far from a traditional portraiture show, What’s Under My Skin? offers visitors a raw and honest window into the artist’s internal world. Khushi’s works disassemble and reinterpret the human body as a vehicle for exploring themes like anxiety, vulnerability, and psychological exposure.
